I am super hypermobile and over the years I have had countless breaks, tears and various injuries. My ankles bend and swing like I've never seen... think of the film Misery and you will know what I mean urgh! This never used to be an issue, I healed but asI've got older they have become so weak - but I've been used to it and so I learned to run and play sport with floppey feet. No wonder I'm always injured.Recently, I have rolled my ankle 3 times in one month. I have shopped and shopped for ankle supports and nothing seems to give enough support - It doesn't help that my ankles are skinny too!. Anyhow, I came across this one and took a punt and bought it. It's amazing! It is tight, possibly a little too tight as I fight to get it off but its very very supportive. It has gel pads too which help to relieve pain. I tried it out and went running. I could tell the difference instantly! The pain only came on towards the end of the run on rough terrain and what I noticed that for the first time ever was that my ankle and foot didn't flop when off the ground and when it hit the ground it planted itself firmly and flat - or heel to toe. The way it should be.This made me realise just how crazy floppy my other, and slightly less injured ankle is. I really noticed how unstable my ankles really are. This is great. I am going to have to get another one for my other ankle and where them both for sport. It really changes everything.As an added bonus too, is that it comes with a booklet by Dr Arthritis which explaines some injuries and how you can care for them. I've not experienced any shop bought ankle braces like this. I won't bother searching chemists and the like anymore. I will just purchase these because they are excellent!
