I spent quite a while choosing this charger. It wasn't cheap, but the claims of German engineering won me over. More fool me! It has had very light use over 18 months..... Used perhaps 20-30 times on quality Eneloop batteries....... But it has failed completely and the customer service from Ansmann is even worse. Three emails with no reply. It did work for a while but now it is as if it has lost its mind. It gives false and misleading readouts and I'm worried that it may cause damage to my batteries so if anyone wants it....... you can have it for free. You have been warned.

Well built, although the readout could be better, and I would prefer it to be angled forward. Ideal for D cells, but with AA contact is only made when they are in just the right position; don't panic. The instructions are heavy going, but need to to be read, and digested. They actually make operation seem more complicated than it really is. So far so good.

Have had a lot of "fancy" chargers in my time. Most recent one died after 4 years and showed some batteries being completely dead. This Ansmann did the trick, its LCD display tells me more than the others that had LCD displays but most importantly charged what other chargers could not get some batteries going!
