These are a little complex to program and its easy to make a mistake BUT the capacity to water different amounts on different days is hard to find. Add to this it has a mechanical valve that opens about 1/2 inch which is essential for low pressure situations. The main caveat i have w the timers is they often die after a year. When they die the valve doesn't open fully or it simple gets stuck open. Still they are the best available and I would recommend them.

We bought 3 of these last spring. First two units worked fine. Except that moisture kept seeping into the housing. We protected them with plastic bags. However, they stopped working at some point at the end of the season. We installed the 3rd one only a week ago - it was purchased last year, but brand new, out of the box and new batteries. All was well, except that the watering came on and it would not stop. Water was running for 4 hours! Amazon does not have an option to return it now. Lesson - if you do buy it, install within returnable period! Add double protection from water seepage. I am finding the analog timer much more reliable.

I opened the package, put batteries in and was able to set it up super quickly. I played with the buttons a little bit to see what everything did, but there really was no reason. It works exactly as it should. I had hooked it up and ran it. No issues. My only recommendation is to set the times BEFORE connecting, otherwise it's a lot of bending. I connected it and then set the timers and have a bad back, so it was rough but it still wasn't bad. I like it better than the dial set ups. The page claims that the cover is water tight and so far that seems to be accurate.

These valves worked well for me for a couple months. Especially great for my gravity fed drip setup. But they eventually let water leak into where the motor is and it corroded and died. They need drain holes drilled in them to let that water out.

Worked for a year and a half and then randomly stopped. Replaced batteries but no go. Screen frozen. Would love a replacement, as I was hoping that it would last longer than 1 year.

I've had this timer in use for a few months and it works super great! Easy to set up, easy to customize, and performs amazing. It did develop a small leak around the spigot connection and I contacted Yardeen via email. They promptly responded and diagnosed the issue and sent me a completely new timer at no charge! These guys are pros at customer service and they will definitely get my business again! Thank you guys at Yardeen!!!!

Overall, a great timer. It has eight program settings, more than most users probably need. If you toggle thru the unused program settings, be careful you don't accidentally fat finger an adjacent button. If you do and one of the unused "on" settings receives a numeric character - specifically all zeros, the timer will turn on at midnight and not turn off. Also, the "off" setting must be at least one minute greater that the "on" setting for a given program. Unused program settings need to have all "dashes" in them (default). One way to avoid this problem is to use the "ESC" button instead of toggling thru the unused program settings. Of course we learned this the hard way since there is no warning in the instructions. This unique problems is why fours stars instead of five.

Those of us using a drip irrigation system from a gravity or rain barrel feed can not use a solenoid based irrigation timer. We need a zero pressure ball valve based timer. Since Melnor ceased production of their unit almost a decade ago, I have been looking for a replacement for my dozen ageing Melnor ball valve based timers. Thought I had found it with the Yardeen devices. While initially they function quite well, I have found that after about a month use, sufficient moisture condenses inside the unit to cause the batteries to corrode and damage the electronics. I have tried this sophisticated electronic unit and three very basic Yardeen timers, all operating under the same principle, all using the same physical design and all of them after three to four weeks of use failed. Will continue the search for a ball valve irrigation timer.

Se agotan muy pronto las pilas, no acepta pilas recargables. No sirve para el uso proyectado (regar mi jardín cuando salgo de vacaciones o dejo mi casa una semana o más)

Este producto dice ser impermeable, no lo es, significa que cada vez que riega las baterías se mojan y deja de funcionar. Es muy complicado su sistema para programar el riego

Un poco complejo para programar. No se puede apretar las conexiones a mano, aún con empaques nuevos, se requiere apretar fuerte con una pinzas para evitar fugas

Used this last season to drip irrigate from my water barrel and it worked great. I love the different ways you can program with multiple times a day or extra certain days. Unfortunately, I took the batteries out and left it in the shed for winter to find out it doesn’t work at all and water is getting into the battery compartment so it’s slightly wet inside and no longer works. Would love something that works for multiple years but this doesn’t seem to be it.
