They screw
Well. they screwed. Went through the cement board just fine, though with real Hardi backer board (the only pure cement board, the others are softer and crumbly) they are tough to get flush, but close to flush is good enough.

On time and just what I needed.
Same price as box store. Box store only had large box and I only needed about 20 of these screws.

Star head
Best screws for Hardie Backer. Star tip makes it much easier for the screws to stay on the tip of the screw gun. Far better than a Phillips head.

Not self drilling in hardy board.
I started predrilling for the backer screws. Screws work fine for embedding into the baker just no good for starting in Hardyboard.
