Beautiful functional piece of art for my garden
Some people are complaining that this will corrode and possibly break over time. It's untreated unpainted metal, so yes it will unless you treat it. To protect it from the elements while retaining the appearance of the finish, use rustolean clear coat or similar product, WD40 silicone spray or similar product, or carnauba automobile wax or similar product. If you don't mind changing the finish, coat it with an outdoor paint for metals, or try your hand at "bluing". The coatings are not permanent, so you will need to reapply, every few years for some, more often for others, but it doesn't take much time or money to do so. Take care of it and it will probably last a lifetime. Some people are also complaining about a lack of mounting hardware. That needs to be chosen based on the surface you are going to mount it on. With a hose, the rack is going to probably weigh 20 or more pounds. You're going to need good anchor screws which will support that much weight, the biggest that will fit the holes on the hose rack, and you need to drill a hole of the appropriate size to fit fit those into, so you need a drill also. If you're drilling into concrete or brick, you'll need a masonry drill bit. If this is confusing, just ask for help in choosing at the hardware store.

Looks good and works well for our needs
This was mounted to a 3’ wooden post that was stained a rich dark brown to hold this piece. Looks great, as well as easily holds a 100’ lighter weight garden hose. Mounting to the post was fairly easy- 10-15 minutes. Normal (easy to understand) Directions, as well as appropriate screws supplied would have been appreciated! The hose holder had a few areas where paint was “missing” but could easily be touched up. Overall, worth the money (probably wouldn’t pay more for it—although I see others do charge more) and we are glad we purchased it

Well made.
Easily holds 50 foot hose. Looks much better than plastic or stamped tin holder.

I’ve now bought four of these
This is beautiful. It’s really well-made. It looks like it could be antique. I bought one for the hose in my backyard and I have since bought one for each hose around my house. I love them. I’m really glad to have found them. It’s cast-iron and you screw it together and then bolt it to the wall. I don’t know why anyone would suggest that it’s not strong enough for certain hoses. It’s iron. It’s great.

I had to modify.
Love the ornate cast iron but the reel part was too weak for my 100 ft hose. Ended up attaching ornate parts to a cheep but strong hanger. My wife is very pleased with her hose and watering post.

All metal
The Best part about this inexpensive hose holder is that it is solid metal. I also bought a different hose holder and the back half of it is plastic which is not going to hold up as well over time. As far as Ease assemble This comes without any directions but it is not difficult to figure out I’m a 62 year-old female The only challenge I had was that the screws in one section are just a tiny bit too big for the holes in the back so you really had to put some Hafton to the screwdriver to make them go in and they don’t go in as far as I think they should. Other than that it holds my hose just nicely.

Poor quality, save your money!
I purchased two of these hangers because they closely resembled the ones I had bought many years ago. One of the two was for a neighbor and on opening the container everything appeared fine. When I opened the container of the one I got for myself, I discovered one of the pieces was broken. The shipping container had obviously received some very rough treatment in that it was crushed and nearly torn open however, I doubt that that is the reason for the broken piece. The hangers were made in China (renown for poor quality), using what I suspect is a low grade cast iron. The castings themselves are of poor quality with many large flaws indicating poor or no quality control. It's likely that the broken piece broke due to internal stresses during cool-down because it appeared slightly warped. I attempted to assemble the hanger to see if it could be salvaged and discovered that it would have been impossible to assemble the unit if it had not been broken. Is this making your head hurt yet? I'm going to keep this item because it is more trouble than it's worth to ship it back and I think I can patch it up with some JB Weld or similar product. Thank you China for your defective merchandise. Your reputation is well earned.
