Wonderful book
My daughter received this book as a gift and it's been a wonderful addition to our library. The story has repetitive anticipatory text which is great for toddlers. The story itself follows a child who goes to visit 6 different types of animals on a farm. This book can be used as part of a unit to teach certain farm animal sounds, a limited amount of colors, and counting to 6. We enjoyed the different style of illustrations in this book, as well. This is certainly one of my 2 year old's favorite books. I would also recommend purchasing We went Walking by Sue Williams as well. Both stories go so well together.

This is no "I Went Walking"
I had high expectations for this book because my kids and I all enjoyed I Went Walking. Cute that the author uses baby animals to match the big animals in I Went Walking, and adds the element of counting the animals. However, seems like an opportunity was missed in the order in which the baby animals are introduced. When my kids noticed the baby animals in this book were the same as the big animals the first book, they pulled out I Went Walking to compare. This book would be superior if the animals came in the same order... cat, horse, cow, duck, pig, dog. Instead it's foal, calves, kittens, piglets, ducklings, puppies.

A Visit at the Farm
"Let's Go Visiting" is the delightful to sequel to "I Went Walking". Even though they are both simple stories, the story in "Let's Go Visiting" differs from "I Went Walking". Having both books won't leave children or their parents bored with the same story from these repetitive sentence books. "Let's go visiting. What do you say?" brings in baby farm animals, ready to play! This book utilizes counting to six and teaches the names for the baby farm animals (kittens, piglets, calves). The wonderful illustrations are active and create their own story, complimenting the simplicity of the text. Although this book is recommended as a read aloud for babies through toddlers, I would also include it as an independent reader for kindergarten and first grades.

What a fun book
This is yet another wonderfully written and illustrated book with Julie Vivas' name on it. Simple, beautiful and a must for your little ones collection. Any book with Julie Vivas' name on it is not only a part of my home collection but they have been given as gifts many times. There's a Julie Vivas book for everyone. Don't overlook the one on the home birth and the Nativity.

Gentle and fun
Cheerful illustrations, a simple, fun story line-a good book for toddlers just starting to love books and reading. It is a counting book, a colors book, and a bedtime book in one.
