This is a wonderful collection of many of the best short stories by a wide range of talented authors whose brief bios introduce each story. The selections are appealing to both new readers of short fiction and those familiar with the writers and their work.

Close enough to the 9th edition! Got this book for my short story class and i love it! Its an older edition so its affordable. Its filled with tons of classics and commentary about and from the authors. Read a great review Poe wrote and i cant say how amazing it is to have all these stories, reviews all together 💓. I would recommend this to a friend as a good read not just a textbook!

This was the perfect book for my short story reading group. Very unique and interesting stories with biographies of each author preceding each story.

I like that the stories are varied and that each story has a brief biography about its author preceding it. I purchased this book for a class but intend to hold on to it as there are some stories/authors that caught my attention. If you like short stories, this book will interest you due to the variety of styles.

A very interesting book. Really only good for students who are interested in perhaps writing short stories, but for others it has a great collection of stories and a varied selection of writers. The bios are included on most of them, and the commentaries can shed some light on the stories. A good book to have on a shelf.

The book isn't in the best of conditions but it will do for my purposes. I intend to highlight in the book anyway, so I don't mind other writing marks in it. The binding was a little beat up, but it's just for school, so again I don't mind.

Was definitely much more used than it said!
