Ergonomic Aluminium Portable Foldable Cooling X-Stand for 12"-17" Laptops, Notebook PC, MacBook

I own a Toshiba Qosmio X775, a wide gaming laptop of ~17.3" (if I remember correctly). The monitor is 16:9 and the resolution is 1600x900. It has a large bulge on the back of the bottom in which the large battery is held.Because of this, I was worried that any cooling stand I purchased would not be able to do its job, as well as allow the laptop to be balanced while being held securely. I took a chance on this after reading a dozen or so reviews, positive and negative so that I could grasp a general idea of how it worked. I suggest doing the same just to be sure it's right for you!This stand is quite versatile and durable. It has been designed in such a way that you can "fold" it into one small piece that you can put into your pocket. This was pretty amazing to me, receiving this product and seeing it in a box smaller and thinner than the size of my forearm.The way this works is that the legs swivel out - both the front and back. Also, the front (as in the ones closest to you) legs have little feet that stick up at the end, so as to prevent your laptop from sliding off of the stand since it is at a slant. This works great even if your laptop does not fall into the grooves completely, and keeps it stable.The back legs are adjustable, and this is what makes them great for both small and large laptops. The feet of these legs are what prop the laptop up to be slanted.This is what helps it to cool, as it has much more room and a more controlled path for airflow. Also, since this is an "X" pattern as opposed to a whole block of mesh or something, this makes it so that the laptop is not reheating itself or the stand with the hot air, keeping it ultimately cool, it seems.Finally, the laptop does not slide around or appear lopsided. I thought it did at first, and then realized that I had my back legs at different lengths, which was easy to tell as the adjustable part has numbers and marks showing how far out it is (smart of the designer)! Also, the battery pack that takes up half of the back of the laptop does not get in the way because of how adjustable this stand is.Therefore, I very highly recommend this, ESPECIALLY if you are an avid gamer as I am. I spend several hours per day gaming, and this keeps my laptop cooler, allowing me to have higher framerates than I have had for a while. It was definitely worth the purchase for myself, and it's even more portable than my laptop is since it fits in my hand and/or pocket. Cheers!

Okay, so it's not an essential item to my life, but it IS an essential item for my laptop.I have a MacBook and it is the love of my life. Kidding! My husband is, but it is a close second. So, of course, I try to take the best possible care of it.OVERHEATING: When my MacBook started getting hot, I would worry. I mean, I know this thing has fans, but I also know that high temperatures are not necessarily good for electronic products either. So I went in search of a solution. I found an application that I could download which would control my computer's fan speed manually. Awesome. But it wasn't the full solution. The computer would still heat up quite a bit. After spending ages reading online, I came to the conclusion that it needed a stand to allow better air flow.THIS PRODUCT: That conclusion led me to Amazon, which led me to this product. I spend HOURS reading reviews on hundreds of products, and days mulling it over, before I make a purchase. I want to be sure I won't regret it, and usually, if I have to send stuff back, it's the product's problem (a rare occurrence, but it does happen). THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH THIS STAND. This stand is AMAZING! I love it. It's simple, it's sturdy, it's light weight, it's my computer's best friend.BOTTOM LINE: The price of this thing is well worth it. I mean, you can spend the same amount on some cheap cooling-pad for the computer bottom, but then you've got the fan power to worry about and a bulky item, etc. This thing folds up really small, stretches out to accommodate a decent sized computer. I love it. You'll love it. And if not, Amazon has an amazing return policy. Be sure to read ALL of the product information provided on this site, as well as researching a bit about the product before you buy it. That goes for anything you buy. Sometimes information gets jumbled when a product's page is being made, so make sure you've done your own homework. That being said, if you're thinking about buying this, I would definitely recommend that you do.

After years on a desktop in a chair, recently I bought my first laptop and love sitting with my back against the couch, on the floor, with the laptop on my coffee table and legs stretched out underneath. This extremely light, compact and exceptionally handy folding stand is perfection for elevating my 15 inch laptop for optimum view and keyboard use. As is mentioned in the description, it's adjustable for any laptop from 13 to 17 inches and adjusts to just the right place to prop up your laptop underneath. I absolutely love this little thing. The price is right. The quality is right on. Get it. By the way, there is hard rubber between the contact points and your laptop so it won't scratch anything up. This is so so handy and just perfect. I may buy another just in case I lose this one. There isn't another one I'd rather have. Book it.

This is an extremely nifty bit of kit. :)Firstly, It does the job very efficiently - I have been using my computer on it for several hours now, and it's barely even warm, whereas normally it would be worryingly hot by now.Secondly, it's unobtrusive. The other devices I have seen that are intended to do this job have a supportive limb that sticks out at the back, looking very odd and taking up a good deal more space. This just fits neatly under the computer.Thirdly, it's easily portable, as it is not only quite light, but also folds down to something that will easily fit into a computer carry bag.And finally, it puts the keyboard at a comfortable angle to type on. :)The only thing I can see which might be viewed as a drawback is that it is not adjustable. But as it works so very well at this angle and makes the keyboard so comfortable to use, I don't see this as a problem.I am very, very pleased with this purchase. :)Just one additional note - the main picture on this page shows the stand being used upside down, which I think must account for the handful of low reviews which said that the stand wobbled or that the computer slipped off it. When you use it the other way up, it's perfectly stable, and the computer can't slip off because the little tabs (which look like feet in the picture) hold it in place. :)

I bought this 4 years ago and have used it almost every day of work since and it’s still going strong. Only came back to look at the product page as I thought I should ensure I have a backup in case I misplace it. Thought I should leave a review as a thanks for its ongoing years of service.

Got this quite a long time ago but never got round to making a review.I've been using it with my Alienware machine since getting it and it still works perfectly. The Alienware is a heavy machine as well! The all metal construction has ensured that it's long lasting.Angles my machine in a way that allows it to cool at the base when the fans are off. This allows passive cooling of the laptop without dust building up within the machine.When the fans do need to come on, like when gaming, this just gives it an easier time since the base of the machine isn't sitting flat on the table.Lastly, the angle allows for a more comfortable typing experience.

Having an Asus gaming laptop cooling is a priority, and this soloution is perfect. The rubber feet and holding elements keep the laptop mark free and offers suffient gap to cool. This is an 18" laptop and it fits without any issues and is very stable. Folds down to a small item and easy to carry. A must for anyone with a HOT laptop
