Oar locks working well so far
I bought these oar locks for user with some Carlisle oars in our old town discovery sport canoe. When I first got them the plastic seemed like it may be a bit flimsy but after they were installed they have worked well and I haven't had any problems with them. They don't feel rock solid as I'd imagine metal oar locks would and they squeak a bit when rowing, but other than that no complaints. They clamp down tightly so I installed them once and haven't had to mess them at all since. I have no idea what the plastic tubes in the package are for and did not end up using them at all, some instructions with the packaging would have been nice.

work for me
I've used these on a both carlisle and caviness aluminum oars on my 19' omc rough neck skiff. I use them mostly when I am drifting class 1 rivers while hunting, to keep myself in the channel and out of the sweepers. they work great and the oars can still be used for poling and such, since the locks are small and light and don't get in the way. and they are quick and easy in and out of the sockets for when things get happening. They can be bent however if too much force is applied. probably best on a smaller boat than mine.

Good product.
These oar locks are pretty good. The part that clamps the oar needed to be tightened multiple times before the oars felt stable in them. Also, I needed to use the adapter sleeve for my boat; the only problem was the adapter sleeve did not want to stay on the oarlock and kept falling out the bottom of the holder when I was rowing. A small amount of hot glue did fix the problem though.

Has Some Steel Parts that Will Rust
What is not apparent from the product description and photos is that some of the metal parts are not stainless steel. There is magnetic steel in the peg as well as in the hinge pin that holds the two curved sides of the oarlock together at the top. Worse yet, that pin is not solid but made of thin curved sheet metal (see the side-view photo). In addition, when I placed a magnet at one end of the hinge pin, it slid part way out. These metal parts will rust and weaken.

Best Oar Locks Around
I like these air locks. They are light and work well. They have an advantage over all metal in that they do not scratch and dent the boat. My boat is an Old Town Sportboat which is a row boat. They oar lock are perfect for this type of boat.

They met my expectations
However they do seem a bit expensive for what you get. That aside, I like that they won't turn to rust as the other clamp-ons tend to do.

OK
These are ok although they are too large to really clamp on to the oars I purchased. Not much information came with them so I don't know if they are supposed to fit loosely or tight around the oar.
