What are the dimensions of the box itself?

Roughly about 3" high, 2" wide and 1" deep, it is only ment for 1 conection ..in and out, although it could be used to extend a lead, it is used as a spur from a distribution from the main box ..ie a bigger box with 4 to 6 points terminals (like a spiders web) although I have looped 2 inline adding 2 extra phones with no problem I have 5 phones in my system, also there is a limit to the lenth of the line where the power will drop off, hence the bigger terminal box where you can set it in a central position alowing shorter leads to each phone (all ring at the same time so you are near a phone) hope this was of help.Mike.g

Can this join 3 or 4 cables by pushing 2wires into each seated position?

It is possible, depending on what you wish to do, it is only a "spur"box ie a lead in feeds it and a out lead goes to the phone socket. if you wish to have a "central hub" a bigger box is required to create a "spiders web" ie; to several phone points throu-out the house, what I have done is to loop one phone socker to another the kits provide enough cable to do this, as I said this device is ment to "ADD" an extra phone, if going ahead read the instructions and the colour codeing make sure the right colour lead is the same in each box ie; 1 to 6
