Organized and Good Variety
Finally took a dive and bought this book so I could make berry smoothies. The beginning of the book has a brief overview on what to eat, not to eat, ph levels, and so forth. It also explains that certain healing foods are neutralized with plant based milks, which is why you’ll see see berries in healing. These have all been ph tested and deemed as safe for healing. There’s some recipes with and without pictures, and a good variety of healing and maintenance foods. You can alter a lot of the dishes from maintenance to healing by removing maintenance items. I also LOVE how it clearly states if it’s healing or maintenance with an H or an M for each recipe. Genius as some books do not state what is safe to eat for which phase. The reason I took a star off is because my book came with smudges and marks, but it’s Amazon, so I can always do an exchange! Highly recommend this book and also AWD Facebook groups to learn more cooking recipes

Bought it for my H.Pylori - recipes worked really well!
I took Antibiotics for H.Pylori 2 months ago, I thought it didn't work because I still had symptoms, so I started a strict low acid H.Pylori diet using this cookbook - and then I gradually began to feel much better. today, 1.5 months since I got this book, I found out that i'm H.Pylori negative!i'm not sure if it was the Antibiotics or the diet the cured it, all I know is that I still felt symptoms after the Antibiotics and most of these symptoms disappeared after I started the acid watcher diet. The recipes are doable, ingredients list was not too expensive and it felt really good to still be able to enjoy yummy food within the very strict H.Pylori diet. Obviously I could not eat everything in there, H.Pylori diet restricts dairy or bread and any wheat products. But the book had some really good ideas, especially for Gluten free recipes such as cauliflower toatsdas.

This was great and not only great for reflux but even for inflammation. Trying to reset your body and eat clean with a guide.

Changes to the Book
I learned through the AWD Facebook page that the information in this book isn't accurate. Changes have been made to some of the ingredients, but aren't reflected in the book. If that's true then following the recipes aren't going to provide me with the healing that I'm hoping for.

Great info on LPR & GERD
I liked all the info on how pepsin also accompanies acid reflux up the esophagus and that eating or drinking anything more acidic than pH=4 will reactivate the pepsin attached to the esophagus. Eating meals with higher pH does provide relief from many of the symptoms but it takes time. I wish it had more complete lists of the pH of some foods and had more information on the complete onion family. Garlic and onions cannot be used in healing phase. It seems leeks can be used in healing phase. It is used in those recipes with no explanation. Berries can be neutralized with the veggie milks but you have no guidance as to how much is needed to neutralize except by following the recipes exactly so swapping out ingredients might make a smoothie too acidic in healing phase.

Great for people with multiple medical issues
You really have to follow the 28 day healing diet first.

Good recipes for heartburn sufferers
I've had heartburn for more than 20 years and the Acid Watcher book really helped me make better every day food choices (and even more when I'm feeling bad). I've bought this recipe book as well and the recipes I've tried so far are good and easy on my stomach.

Great Book
I've been working from Dr Aviv's Acid Watcher series for about 6 months now, trying to get a beat on what's going on with my digestion. I have this book on kindle, on my phone, and I find it so useful for reference, particularly when I'm food shopping. I can just double check the PH of a food or the advice given quickly and make sure I don't waste my money. It's definitely going to be easier to follow if you can cook proficiently - I would say I'm more a beginner - and I can only imagine how frustrated foodies must get at the limitations but this book is a lot less limiting than the 'Acid Watcher Diet' and I find it also inspires my creativity as it explains why we're using certain ingredients and how they work. I would've liked more pictures for reference but all in all I would recommend it. I've learned a lot from it and continue to!

Tasty recipes
Finally tasty recipe book for people who suffer from silent reflux or heartburn. Dr. Aviv (author & ENT), helps get you healthy again. I appreciate that Dr. Aviv has found ways to neutralize acidic foods, like tomato sauce, so that I can enjoy them again. I recommend this book for people that are serious about undoing the esophageal damage they have created.

recipes to avoid acidic foods.
I purchased this book with the intention of curing acid reflux. I have not been successful, as many of the recipes contain items that I know I cannot eat. However I still think it's a good purchase for anyone struggling with reflux because we are all different. It might be just the thing you need.
