Russian
I'm not sure I'll stick around for the second book but I will say, this was not at all what I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, the writing is brilliant, the storyline not only scared me, it's a bit morbid and I'm not sure what it says about me that I kind of enjoyed it, so yeah, I have some self evaluating to do. I despise cliffhangers and in case you're wondering this one ends with the mother of cliffhangers! I'm just not sure how invested I am with the story and characters, it's difficult to be committed when your repulsed by certain elements of the story. Yes I gave this story 4 stars because even though it's not my kind of story, the kind that leave me with so many FEELS, I finished the book and that can only be contributed to the writing. So we'll see how I feel when the next book is available.

Dark Romance - Enemies to Lovers!
"I've seen bad men, but this one...he's really bad. And I know instantly that I'm f*4@ed."Dark romances are rarely for me, but sometimes they work out in little gems like Bad. It was a great enemies-to-lovers - well, the romantic side was very slim in this first book - between two depraved individuals. It was interesting that the setting happened to be in Russia, the anti-hero the Boss of the Bratva. The heroine was, while slightly unbelievable, the brain behind a Mexican cartel - her brother being the face of it. I think she might have even been more deranged than the hero. While this book really lacked a romantic connection of any kind and ended on an intense cliffhanger, it was fast-paced, engrossing, and the dynamic between Ronan and Camilla was really entertaining."You may very well be the closest thing to a savage I've ever stumbled across.""Oh, Russian,” I laugh. “Don't pretend you don't like things a little wild."I was hoping for a little more of a romantic connection between the H and h, but it never came. Ronan was really unique, if not a bit too smirky for me. The heroine was a straight savage as he said, though. The push and pull kept me on my toes. Really dark and gruesome subject matter. But if you can handle that, give it a try!

Russian Mafia meets Mexican Cartel
I've read several dark romances and, to me, this one was better than most I've read. Ronan is the big bad wolf of the underworld and his life mission is to plan and conspire to not only make a lot of money by nefarious means, but pull the strings of world politics. He's a bit of an urban legend, known by the underworld for being ruthless and untouchable and single-handedly responsible for orchestrating most world events. An arms deal that leads to potential war/s that he's being laying the pieces for for years is dependent on a piece of land in Mexico. He kidnaps Camilla, a Cartel leader, as collateral to keep her brother in line and march to his tune. Like him, Camilla is dangerous, used to getting her own way and skilled at criminal undertakings. She is wild and loves blood, mayhem and murder. They have a love/hate relationship where she tries to get under his skin and he tries to control her. Sparks, and blood, flies, as each tries to get the upper hand. Camilla has a mystery benefactor while being held captive and from there, the intrigue continues. While the story was over the top (expectedly), it was an entertaining read. Ronan loves control and Camilla is wild. It was refreshing to read a dark romance involving a kidnapping where the female isn't a simpering, sniveling, weak character that tries to be defiant while struggling with the author's version of Stockholm Syndrome. Normally, the heroine does the whole, I love him but how can I when I hate him? while being treated like dirt. Camilla was strong, defiant and feisty, making no apologies for who she was, how she feels and her love of carnage. Ronan is a kindred spirit and they both know it won't end well. As for Ronan, his character, while alpha, was better than most I've read in this genre as he wasn't about sex and focused on manipulating her as well as the bigger picture. To Ronan, Camilla was welcome entertainment. The story moved quickly enough for me. I took a star off because there were typos throughout (not terrible, but noticeable). I also found a lot of the 'dark' themes in the book repetitive, and therefore some of the storyline. There was a lot of emphasis put on how bad Camilla and Ronan were, their lack of morals, love of killing and spilling blood (literally), etc. that it became a little old. I got it. It's a dark romance and they're both bad and turned on by violence. There was also a tiny bit of Camilla trying to rationalise her craving for Ronan. Some of the language is repeated, too, especially from Ronan. I've never heard a guy say 'festive' so much. And just a pet peeve - Ronan is an Irish name. Something more Russian would have been a bit more authentic, since there's a lot of emphasis on Russia and how much Ronan is connected to it, you know, being Russian and all. I can't see his father, a former Russian Bratva leader, giving his son an Irish name.Be warned - this book does end on a cliffhanger, so nothing is tied up. There is also a few graphic scenes of violence. I didn't find them too bad but if you're super squeamish, you might. There is also mention of rape, in case that's a no-no. Overall, it was an enjoyable read and I'll go straight onto the next one.

Bad After meeting Ronan in the Wrong series
BadAfter meeting Ronan in the Wrong series, I couldn't wait to read Bad. The story had me right from the prologue. If the reader took the time and read Wire, they would understand how Ronan Cole and Camilla Estrada meet.Ronan thought that Camilla would be easy to manipulate and move her around like any other chess piece but that isn't the case. I love how Camilla can easily play the game. She isn't a queen that will be easily dethroned. One of my favorite quotes in the book stated, " I want to dance in the flames with him and feel my skin peel away in the heat. I want to walk that fine line where power, life, and death all combine." Camilla might seem weak in some ways to Ronan but she has her own power. It is the power of seduction but it is also the power to bring utter destruction. The sexual tension, which Camilla and Ronan have, was off the chart explosive. It is utterly volatile. I loved every minute of it. They wanted to kill each other one minute and get down and dirty the next. It was utterly crazy. The mystery man/woman who is the unknown. Oh...the unknown isn't always good. I always say the unknown can blow up in your damn face. How is this mystery man/woman going to affect Ronan Cole and Camilla Estrada? The authors brought in this unknown and made me question how this is going to affect the main characters.I can't wait for Dirty. I want Ronan and Camilla to come together and show me how ruthless they can ultimately be. This quote from the last chapter is everything. It stated, "My mind freefalls down this morbid little rabbit hole,Ronan has dragged me to. Down, down, down I go until all I want us him, to dance with the devil, to corrupt my soul so entirely that only he could possibly want it." I'm with Camilla on this. Once you meet Ronan, you will beg to corrupt. You will give up your soul for the freefall.

His aim is pretty much to take over the world
Nooooooooooooooooo!! Whyyyy?!! Seriously?!?!?!?Those are the words nearly exactly, i gotta be honest they were probably more sweary, plus some serious name calling when i read those last words... WHAT?!?!?!OMG these girls have some serious making up to do!!We've previously met Ronan in the Wrong Series but this is a book all of his own. You don't have to have read Wrong but if you haven't then... seriously... read them!Anyhoo, Ronan. Cold, calculating Russian. His aim is pretty much to take over the world. He sets up the pieces of the worldwide game of chess he's playing and waits to make his move. War's started, innocent loss of life, assassinations, stock market crashes, whatever it takes. He want's full and complete power and he will get it at whatever cost. One puzzle piece he has to put into place is gaining a piece of land in Juarez. To do this he has to clear the cartel out the way. To do this he takes it's leader Camilla.Camilla is fire to Ronan's ice. Hot tempered and equally as calculating and vicious she finds herself as a hostage in a foreign land. She knows pain. She knows torture. Nothing this Russian can do to her will make her bow to his will. She's going to do everything in her power to get away from him. She's not going to make this easy. She's gonna play him at his own game. The problem is as the story goes on they find out that not only are they similar but they are a match against each other. A battle of wills and power ensues.Ohhh my my my my Epic battle!!! It was like watching a really gruesome game of tennis! One would pitch a play and the other would pitch one right back. Honestly i didn't know where it was gonna end!! We'll get back to that part!I'm not sure you can actually say you love Ronan. He was sexy. All that power and confidence phewwww that certainly gets you going, but love? Hmmmm not sure lol I totally got where Camilla was coming from, you love to hate him is probably the best description for him. He's so cold that nothing, and i mean nothing means anything to him but power. No family, no friends, no lover only pieces of his wicked game. He's determined and calculating and i think he's the ultimate baddie!Camilla is pretty much his equal the only difference being is that she has a tiny teeny little sliver of humanity left in her. Plus that temper of hers gives you glimses of the fire inside. Where Ronan has managed to quell those reckless emotions Camilla most certainly has not. I gotta be honest her firey antics had me chuckling even when there was bloodshed to go with it. She's so brutal you gotta love it.Together on the same team? i just can't even imagine what might happen. This is not moonlight and roses. This is not a fluffy love story. I can't even say there is any love. YET... hmmm maybe? Only war and power play. Battle of the Cartel and Bratva. Fire and Ice. Alpha vs Alpha. A battle of the sexes! Brilliant! The writing is virtual poetry. It takes the gruesome story to an almost beautiful verse. It flows up and down and round and round. Gripped from beginning to end. There's explosions and fireworks and you never really know what's going to happen. I love the to and fro between Ronan and Camilla. I can't even call the victor right now and i'm not sure if there is ever going to be a winner! Should there be? I don't know!!!Now... i'm not going to give spoilers... but... the end... It will get you really quite mad. You may want to go on your own stabby killing spree!! Seriously!! Or maybe just smash your kindle up meh your choice!Seriously loved it! Unique and different to the norm it's quite a ride and i can't wait for the next one!

Loved Bad Ronan.
I absolutely love these two Authors writing together and I will always 1 click anything by them. This book is fantastic it doesn't hold anything back so you get all the brutality you'd expect from a story like this. if you're a fan of disturbing reads that'll make you squirm then this is definitely one for you. Especially if you loved the Wrong series by these Authors where we first meet Ronan.Ronan isn't a good man he is BAD in every sense of the word. But I think that's why I like him so much he doesn't pretend to be anything else. Well with the exception of his Public face of course the one he uses to charm everyone. It's a necessity of every good Villain. This book was exciting and made my pulse race I was thoroughly drawn into Ronans world and I loved his effed up twisted power plays with Camilla. These two are a perfect match made in Hell.As I expected this book ends on a massive Cliffhanger which I absolutely Loved. I swear I nearly had a seizure. You know that saying 'Always leave them wanting more' well these two are Queens at doing just that. I love being kept on a knife edge it fuels my excitement for more.I'm still a massive Fan of Gabe and I'm dying for his story too.

Horrible characters
Having read but disliked one Stevie J.Cole book because the characters were so.unpleasant,I thought I should see if her combined writing with L.P. Lovell was any more to my taste. Unfortunately not. These two characters have no redeeming features and the book seems to be an unashamed effort to be violent and unpleasant without even an exciting plot. To add insult to injury, the book ends in the middle of whatever the story is so one has to decide whether to write off the lost time spent reading this or commit more time to the sequel with little hope that there could be a satisfying conclusion. Clearly not my type of story but if you want unpleasant characters with no humanity or even an explanation of how they became so twisted, this is for you.

THE best Dark Romance/Bloodlust Story EVER 😯
I got this book via KU as soon as I was at 30% I knew I was going to buy the Duo. You get stories that have all the action, drama, angst & steaming hot vibes but it normally isn’t sustainable as the story progresses. I do not know how these authors done it but not only does the amazing story continue but it follows through into the next book. Hands down this is the most enjoyable twisted ‘romance’ I have ever come across I had to buy them as I know the read is so enjoyable I will be back again and again. I won’t regurgitate the storyline or synopsis if you like twisted dark & perverse these are books and characters you will not forget about for a very long time. 👏🏽

Sadist romance, its violent, dark and really brutal.
Ronan, Russian mafia, kidnaps Camilla who was already kidnapped by a rival cartel leader. From the frying pan into the fire, but Camilla isn't the usual hostage, nope she's like a hellcat, fearless and feisty. The pair of them are beyond sick and they get turned on by violence, blood and death. They want to kill each other and it sure made a good read because Ronan maybe met his match, although at times I'd say she was darker than him.The characters were very dark, disturbed and psychos. Superbly written. Loved the chemistry, manipulation, psychological warfare and grit between the two. No one can think the love scenes are hot, they were dark, twisted, brutal and violent. The story was simply boy kidnaps girl to use for leverage, then boy has hell of a time trying to keep her contained. Some laugh out loud moments, love when a girl kicks butt!Absolutely a page turner if you like crime novels with a twist. This book contains graphic violence which is disturbing, but is so engrossing because of the characters battle, I couldn't put it down.Spoiler alert.....The ending sucks big time, how dare you do that!!
