THIS STUFF ACTUALLY WORKED!!!!!
To my surprise, this stuff actually worked. Used many other product with no solution to our issue. This was my last try before we called in someone to redo our septic and lateral lines. We had septic/sewage backing up in our basement tub when running water(showers, washer, etc.). Thought it was the septic tank since it had never been pumped in 50 years. After having it pumped, we had no issues until a month later. Then the same issue with water backing up in the basement tub. Decided to dig up around the distribution box just to have a look at that end of the system before digging up all the piping. The guy that pumped my septic tank came back and located my distribution box for me. We actually got a sketch/plans of the septic layout from our local health/environmental department so, he was able to locate it very quickly. After digging up around the D-box, we found our issue. The D-box and the hole I dug to find it would fill up with water after a shower or washing clothes. Our lateral or distribution lines were 90% clogged. The water would eventually go down but, not as fast as we were using it. Once the water had somewhere to go(filling the hole I dug), we had no more backups in the basement tub. I tried many different products with no help. As a last ditch shot, I tried this. Per the instructions, I pumped out all the water in the hole and most of it in the D-box. Added this product to the D-box and filled it with fresh water. Almost immediately it started gurgling and bubbling like it was eating away at something. After 2 days the hole would only fill half as much as it had been filling. By the 4th and last treatment, the water level would not come out or above the D-box walls. There was no water filling the hole, it all stayed in the D-box. We believe that this product took our lateral lines from 90% blocked to only 10-25% blocked. Was so impressed with how this stuff worked. I ordered another round to use just to make sure we got it ALL cleared up, since my D-box was already dug up. I have covered up my D-box and filled the hole and had no issues since using this product. The key is to get this product in your septic system AFTER the septic tank. Flushing it down the toilet or adding it to the septic tank will no work. This product needs to be added after the septic tank per pipe between the septic tank and D-box or added to the D-box directly. Its a little pricey but, it saved us $1000s. If your septic system issue is your lateral lines being clogged or slow moving and you can access the D-box or some pipe after the septic tank, I would give this a try before spending $1000s on lateral line replacement. I definitely would buy this product again.

Update: Worked as represented
Update May 2024: After another clog late last year, I gave this product another chance. The reverse happened from last time. For several months, I used a number of other declogging products which had either no effect or only limited effect, so I tried OXY-Septic one more time as an avenue of last resort before biting the bullet and calling a drainfield specialist. Bingo - the clog cleared up after the last of the four doses. So last time the product apparently did prime the situation for the other products to work. I just hadn't given it enough time. It is likely that there are a number of different factors contributing to my drainfield's propensity for clogging, despite my strict adherence to best septic practices, so from not on I plan to use OXY-Septic, Green Pig and Roebic K-570 regularly on a preventive maintenance basis (in addition to Roebic's K-77 Root Killer, which is an absolute necessity for me since I have huge trees by my drainfield which I refuse to cut down). There is no other place on my property where a drainfield could be located, so it is vitally important for me to keep the existing one working. I am incredibly relieved that this morning for the first time in months, the liquid level in my distribution box was down below the bottom of the distribution pipes immediately after I had taken a shower. Patience and a second chance paid off! * * * * * I am aware that there can be a variety of factors causing a drainfield to be clogged, but this product was not responsive to whatever factor was clogging mine. I followed the product directions precisely, and all it did was cause a bunch of gurgling. It did not loosen anything up. Consequently, it ended up being a complete waste of money. Subsequently, I administered a combination of Roebic K-570 and Green Pig, pursuant to the numerous extremely helpful Amazon reviews of the Roebic product. After a couple of weeks, the problem was completely gone, and my drainfield has been trouble-free ever since. I suppose it is possible that the OXY-Septic might have primed the situation for the Roebic and Green Pig to subsequently be effective, but I have no way of determining that. My recommendation would be to try the combination of Roebic K-570 and Green Pig first. Whatever the solution ends up being for you, the moral of the story is as expressed by so many Amazon reviewers: Never let a drainfield contractor try to convince you that your drainfield needs to be replaced until you have tried several of these types of products, particularly if your drainfield isn't that old. My drainfield was less than ten years old and in exactly the same place where the old one had been, and the old one had lasted 45 years. I knew my new drainfield could not possibly have been at the end of its life.

50 year old septic system.
The product works. At least it has for me. I have a 50 year old septic system. No wet spots in the yard but none flushing toilets. So it has not been a one time treatment for me. I tried it first and had success that lasted a few months. Then repeated it lasted a little longer. The problems came back. Now I have taken a different tact with monthly treatments and each time the level of the tank has gone down montly. While I cannot be sure it seems to be cleaning 50 years of crud. The price of the product far exceeds $10K to redo the system. With the past in mind I am going to keep an eye on the tank levels. Follow the instructions. Pump the tank first wait until water level fills the tank then add the product. Keep an eye on the system, then repeat. So far this has worked for me in Mississippi lossel soiils.

Waste of money
This product was a last ditch effort to clear the fields before digging everything up and replacing them. It didn't work so now I'm doing what should have been done all along and I'm replacing everything

This worked after 2 other products failed
So I had my tank pumped after My drain field started pooling water on the top of it. The pumper said I had water flowing back in to the tank from the field and would need a new drain field. I already had a cleanout on my pipe between the tank and the field so I could look down the pipe and tell that My field wasn't draining. As soon as my tank filled back up so did the pipe to the field. I ordered the product and when it came in I had my field pumped. I added the product per the instructions. I was not able to let my field dry out however. The stuff went in and it began to belch and burp as it worked. The next morning very little water was in the exit pipe. 2 days later I added the second dose with the same active belching and burping. That was the last time I had water in my exit pipe. I continued the treatment as instructed without ever seeing any standing water in my pipe. I had treated thru the same cleanout with 2 other bacterial drain field products with no result so apparently I had a problem that only this product would solve. Very Pleased. I do wish the manufacturer would put a specific maintenance routine on the site. I don't want to loose my benefits. I am thinking a smaller quantity quarterly or something. Anyway, very much worth the money in my opinion.

This actually works!!! Try it if you are on the fence
*** Update 1 year later and drain field failed again. Going to use this product to give me more time as I plan to replace the drainfield***I preface this with I'm an engineer and have to understand how things work. I did a ton of research on septic tanks when my rentals leachfield started backing up. Had the tenants complain on a sunday about water flowing out of septic into the yard and they couldn't use the sinks/showers. I had a company do an emergency pump out for $475, later to find out they didn't do a good job. After about 4 or 5 days tenants said waste was bubbling up out of septic lid. I did research and the best reviews were from Roebic products. I put about 12 bottles of the emergency care K57 and another 4 of K570 for leachfields over 4 weeks. No improvement at all. Then septic shock and multiple other bacteria/enzyme treatments with no improvement. Called a different pump contractor who quoted I would need a 2nd tank for a pump as drainfield wouldn't fit in current location and would have to be pumped to back yard costing $10k. Then I had the tank pumped again this time the company cleaned out both side of tank (the outlet side had a bunch of sludge left where the first company didn't pump it properly). While the tank was dry I installed a cleanout between the septic tank and tee at the distribution line (I didn't have a d box). Then I ordered oxy septic which took about a week to come in and the distribution line had water standing in it, I thought I had messed up b/c instructions say to drain distribution lines prior to placing this in. Well put the bag in and could only spray for about 1 minute till it filled and probably was backflowing into tank. Came back in 2 days and the line was dry!!! used 2nd bag and sprayed hose for 3 mins till it filled. on 5th day line dry used 3rd bag, 7th day 4th bag and sprayed about 4 minutes till it filled. My old drain field is odd b/c I have dug up the yard and can only find one long rocked line perpendicular to the septic tank, I don't think there are fingers going off of it. Since that 4th treatment I did another 2 bottles of roebic K57 and 1 of K570 leach for good measure and haven't had a back up in 3 months. fingers crossed this will continue to perform.

Unprotected shipping
The product did not arrive in the hard protective plastic pales, just 4 independently sealed plastic bags in a single cardboard shipping box. It did suds up nicely in the distribution box and loosened anything in the box but it's too early to tell if it had any benefits in the lines or allowing the soil to absorb more liquids.

Great product, saved me thousands!
I recently had an issue with standing water by my drain field. My field is only about 15 years old and pumped yearly, so it's in relatively good shape. After a little research I landed on trying this out before going down the road of drainfield replacement or repair. The product arrived in two boxes, both in great shape. I am unable to access my distribution box as recommended but was able to access the pump chamber. I put in my first treatment on a Thursday, and by Saturday there was no longer standing water. I finished out the 3 more treatments and so far have not had any further issues. I highly recommend this if your having septic issues.
