I will try to answer your question as best I can.  I am not a doctor, only a long time user of dietary supplements.  My approach has always been to start slow with the dose and note carefully the effects of the supplement.  Each human being is absolutely unique!!  The only way to know if something will work for you is to do what is called an N=1 experiment - you are the only subject in the test.  I started to use Enzymedica products about two years ago and they caused no problems, but didn't do much for my digestion.  At that time, I was on a moderate fat, low protein, moderate carbohydrate diet.  As a senior citizen, I stared to lose muscle mass and strength, so I increased my protein intake.  My digestion slowly went downhill.  I upgraded to DigestGold for it's higher amount of enzymes and found it worked better than the cheaper brands.  So you can see how complicated your question is.  The answer depends on your age, lifestyle, diet, current health condition, the use of acid blockers and other medications, etc.  You may only need to take foods and supplements that support your liver and pancreas, or increase stomach acid if you are younger.  I don't use the enzymes for every meal now, only for meals with meat and poultry.  Fish seems to be easier to digest.  Moderation in all things is a good practice.  You should ask your doctor what he or she thinks.  Even after two years, I am still searching for solutions to my health problems including digestion.  You can't take a one-and-done approach to life.  Even today in 2022, we know very little about how the human mind and body works.  I am sorry I can't give you a definite answer. Unfortunately the US big pharma sold out America shipping all precursor ingredients to China.  China is the sole source of these precursors for EVERY medication sold.  Don't like China production of our pharmaceuticals?  Don't take a pharmaceutical.  Simple.
