010-12833-10 Reactor Autopilot Remote Control

Installed this remote in combination with a Garmin Reactor Auto pilot pump and nav head. The remote, which I initially thought of as a gimmick is fabulous! We can sit anywhere on the boat during long passages. A couple of thoughs: 1 the screen has very small print and wastes display room on white space. A bigger font would be better. The remote uses bluetooth back to the nav head, not the pump or the heading detector. Our nav head is installed on the upper panel of the lower steering station. The remote works well at the lower station, upper station, salon and fore deck. It looses connection at about 10' distance. Setup of the autopilot and the remote was easy. Highly recommend.

Game changer! Works as advertised and then some. So nice to be at the helm station and use it when on autopilot and trying to dodge lobster pots in Maine.

Definitely a nice to have and not a need to have. We have have auto pilot, so already a little spoiled. Got it on a whim but really use and love it more than I expected. So much nicer for doing turn arounds when you’re trying to troll back-and-forth over a specific area. I can keep an eye on the lines and not have to keep looking at the MFD to change course, or take it off of auto pilot to turn around. It’s just much more relaxing and efficient using the remote. I also use it when in idle speed zones so I can sit in the comfortable lounger in front of the center console. Yes, you do get some dirty looks like who is driving the boat you qualified Captain. I would definitely not use it in heavy boat traffic or in tight places. Like auto pilot you have to be judicious when you’re going to use it. Pull the trigger, I’m assuming you worked really hard for your money also. These are the type of things we worked so hard for.

This is a must if you have garmin reactor 40 installed on your boat. Makes operating it so much easier.

Interfaces perfectly with your Garmin nav system. I don’t use the steering wheel to pilot much any longer

I can control the autopilot from anywhere on the deck. This is important when I’m fishing solo. This remotes adds to safe boating.

Worked awesome until it didn’t. Used one season. I’m reordering because I got used to the flexibility it provides me when single handing the boat. Let’s hope it lasts longer this time. I called Garmin and they said it ran out of warranty after 1 year. I’m at 2. Better buy the two year extended.

Love this handy little remote. I live on a cruise wit a 50’ Navigator Yacht. I can be up and away from the main helm and always have a great view of what is in front of me. When driving around I have this handily hanging around my neck. I can easily alter course and control steering from the remote. The screen tells me what the autopilot is doing. It floats (yes…tested) and it looks well sealed and waterproof/resistant.
