Hygloss Products Wooden Spools for Arts and Crafts – Splinter Free – Assorted Sizes, 72 Pieces

I have ordered all sizes of these spools over the past year... they have been great! Occasionally they are a little rough in the inner core, but that doesn't matter so much. I once had a pack missing a small spool, and one of my larger spools had a chunk out of it (likely just a knot in the wood, but unsightly).I contacted the company directly and they sent me replacements very quickly! Very nice company to work with. I recommend these.

I bought a set of 20 1 15/16" size spools to use *as* spools for floss and yarn that was too delicate, expensive, or bulky to put on flat plastic bobbins. They worked as well as I hoped. They are also great for winding 27 yard skeins of perle cotton onto, much better than the pieces of cardboard I had been using.The only difference with these than thread spools you find in a sewing store is there is no slot to hold the thread end. I decided to use a little piece of masking tape rather than saw in a slot (a jewelers saw or Dremel could do the job quickly though). These aren't silky smooth, but I haven't come across any splinters, snagging or reason to concern me about putting thread/yarn/floss on them.20 spools wasn't enough, I'm waiting on a second order of them.

Excellent quality spools. Just what I needed to put thread into kits for a charity donation. Just disappointed that there were only 57 spools in the bag which is clearly labeled 72. Makes me hesitant to order more.

I am using these in a few starter sewing kits for the young girls. Perfect for their little sewing boxes. They are very smooth so, the thread shouldn't snag on them when sewing. A good way to share thread.

I used these to hold miniature figurines while I paint them. They work great for that! No splinters either.

I used these to store fly-tying chenille, braid, etc. They are great. Very smooth finish all around, nothing snags. Sized as described. Excellent quality.

The spools are good. They are actually a better quality than spools that I got from the local craft store, just on a couple of them wood was a little chipped off. I wish there was a bigger verity of sizes though. The discription on Amazon and the picture made me think there would be. There is only three sizes: you get about 12 large - 2'' spools, 24 medium - 1'' spools, and the rest are tiny about 1/3'' spools. I wish they would include that in the discription of the product. Otherwise, you get nice spools.

Perfect to make spool angels.
