I've worn this type of hat for many years but had to stop because the quality of the ones I found had seriously declined; they were either of poor construction or a mix of cotton and a plastic cloth such as polyester which I hate.I stumbled across this hat and bought one on spec and I got lucky, it's perfect. 100% cotton and a good fit. (I am not a fan of universal sizes but I got lucky again with this "L/XL".). The wide brim works well. I have spent the past two days in the hot sun working and sweating and the hat did well.Being cotton the material will shrink a bit when washed but if one puts the hat on when the cloth is still damp it will stretch as it dries. If one is unfamiliar with this style of hat the brim can get a bit floppy but it is the nature of the beast. If you're not going to be working and sweating, the use of spray starch and an iron will stiffen the brim.

The L/XL was too large on me, and I was unsure the next size down would fit at all. But this was one awesome, if somewhat slightly heavy duty, lid. I am surprised to discover how important it is to have LABLES on products that outlast the product itself. But if finding a proper replacement for my favorite canvas floppy hat is the biggest issue I have, it's no fault of the folks who made this unit. Their hat was a thing of beauty and sight to behold, just too big for my noggin.

I have purchased two of these hats and the initial fit was snug. I have a 7 3/4 hat size and after running one of the hats though a wash cycle on cold, I stretched it out and air dried it. The hat loosened up and fits better.

Nice hat for working in hot sun or hiking. Absorbs sweat. Quick drying. Snaps on hat sides let you tuck the brim up. You can pu draw string down to hold it in place in high winds, But... thebrim is too soft to support the weight of amosquito netting. Netting pulls it down. Frustrating, if thats what you need it to do as well.

Nice washable cotton boonie hat. If it lasts, it will be a bargain. The clasp works better than most.

The brim is more lightly constructed than one might expect from the marketing photos. It will not hold its shape.
