I got these boots so I would have appropriate footwear for a tactical training class, but these boots are so comfortable and light that I have found myself wearing them more often. Also, much easier to put on and take off than my heavier old hiking boots. They keep my feet a lot cooler too, so they have been really good for wearing during summer. The material feels nice but I do need to wear crew length socks while wearing these boots.I'm seriously considering also getting the waterproof ones too, as these are not waterproof (nor do they claim to be). I noticed the prices seem to fluctuate a bit so I'll have to watch it a bit.

I’ve had these boots for 2 months and they are already ripping out. Very thin material with mediocre stitching. $135? Never again.

Ok, so I just got these in today and was apprehensively hopeful. As a woman, it's hard to find good tac-boots in the color and style you want. I got these in size 7 hoping they'd work for a backpacking trip across the Grand Canyon next month, but could double up for my bug out bag. I put them on and started walking around the house in them to break them in. Honestly, these may be the most comfortable boots I've ever owned and require little to no break in period with the softness of the siding, but still completely supportive of my ankles. Very happy and hope these last a good long while

I give 4 of 5. I bought in April and have used these boots to an extreme. With the suede, the boot is all-around lighter, which makes it high quality for medium or light duty activity.Within the first week, the side holes "ports" were damaged of their screen, while running in the woods. One recently ripped out, not sure why.When you first put them on, you'll be amazed. I have high arches and immediately felt comfortable. Very small break in period as I became accustomed to the boot height.I was afraid of getting them wet at first, but discovered they held up well I everything below the top of the toe. Water above would get in the boot, but eventually dry out.Water also affects its bright color and makes it dark, even after drying.I get compliments on my boots all the time. They are awesome, but some minor issues need attention before they can get 5 out of 5 from me.I will definitely buy another pair soon.Update: It has been 13 months since purchase and the eyelets are just starting to fail at the tops of the boots. I've worn these boots nearly everyday since purchase. They've stood up well for being a light weight boot. I'll be buying another pair shortly, but will keep wearing these until they are nothing but dust.

I am an HVAC constructor in Phoenix Az and spend a lot of time walking on HOT roofs. I love these boots, this is my third pair. They are very light, fit well and keep my feet cool. I have never been disappointed with a pair of 511 boots.

Disappointed in quality. First day, one of the ankle-height lace eyelets pulled out (rivet failed). Second day, two others pulled out. I work in the Middle east, so returns are cost-prohibitive and time-consuming. In the 110F, 65% humidity, the boots are a bit too padded for my liking and get uncomfortably hot. They are lightweight and otherwise comfortable out of the box. Just wish they were made better. These replace a military-grade boot that I had almost 7 years (that boot was not insulated and cooler to wear, by comparison). Low rating due to the construction. I expected them to be as they are - more of a sneaker construction and a bit insulated. Just can't replace my military boot as that brand is no longer manufactured.

Good boot for a good price. Comfortable, stable and well vented for a long hot day on your feet at the range. Good traction and quick drying. Would recommend and will re buy when I wear these out. Color is more of a sand tan than a coyote brown, would prefer a coyote brown version of the same boot.
