Q: When my dog poos in a dark field will this torch be bright enough to find it without stepping in it?

Well there are lots of parameters here that are unknown. How far away is the dog when it does it poo? How tall is the grass? I would say if the dog is on a short lead and you have a good idea where the poo is, it will be OK. The torch doesn't give a huge range of light or travel a great distance.

Q: Is it ok to leave it charging permanently on a window sill even if used infrequently?

I can't guarantee it, but I have left 2 LED sensor lights with solar panels outside in the sun for a year leaving them switched off so never discharging the battery at all, and I just tried them and they are working, so obviously the battery has not suffered any major issues by constantly being charged by sunlight. So I would imagine the same would be the case for these torches.

Q: How many lumens output?

There are 3 LEDs that each emit 8 lumens, so 24 lumens. I don't understand if the person who said they didn't know thought someone was asking them directly. I never understand why people answer these questions just to say they don't know.

Q: how many years will the rechargable battery work before it stops working? (My last solar one from another brand stopped recharging after 3 years)

I have had mine for 2 years so far without a problem
