Flat Iron and Blow Dryer Holder Combo

I got this product on time and I was excited to get it just in time for Valentines day. I was going to surprise my girlfriend by mounting it to the wall in her bathroom before she got home from work. When I opened the package I noticed that the mounting base was very thin where it meets the flat bar.The little sheet rock inserts that came with the product were completely useless, cheap and flimsy so luckily I had some more robust screw-in style sheet rock inserts I had bought at Lowes and I used those instead. When I finally got it mounted I put the hair dryer and the flat Iron on the product as shown in the picture. The flat bar started to bend down then broke off the the base and fell to the floor! After closer inspection I noticed that the flat bar that you put your hair dryer and flat iron in is mounted to the base with two tiny little beads of weld or solder! I make my living in metal fabrication so believe me when I say, "the construction of this product was completely insufficient and it was bound to fail".This product is a piece of junk as constructed and should be taken off the market or improved to be able to withstand the weight of the things you put on it.Now, I know that I may get a response from the distributor and they'll probably say something like "you should have returned it to get a full refund instead of writing this bad review" but, I'm sorry, that was not an option. I needed to do something fast because of Valentines Day so I ground the solder beads off the flat bar, drilled two holes in the bar (not easy) and mounted it directly to the wall. I just threw away the base that broke off. My girl friend got this part of her Valentines gift and all was well. I just had to Macgyver things a bit to make it work out. Also returning it would have cost me more money so that was not going to happen either. Sorry for such a long review but I felt like I needed to explain why you should stay away from this product...unless, of course, your Macgyver.I have seen so many five star reviews about this product that it leads me to beleave that those people are possibly recieving a different product or maybe getting the same product that has a better weld than mine had. Don't know that for sure. All I know is the product I recieved was a flimzy piece of crap.

I have read the bad reviews concerning breakage. Granted my husband is a Licensed General Contractor and he mounted it on the outside of the sink cabinet for me. I love it. I purchased this January 9, 2015 directly from Amazon. So I have been using it for over 6 months now. It seems really durable to me. I don't put my weight on it, just the weight of the blow dryer and one flat iron. The only dislike is I use the end piece on the blow dryer and you have to strategically place the blow dryer at the right angle to get it in, but other than that, I would order another one if I needed it.

As described, will take up to a very large flat iron. I still have room to hang my often used necklaces on it too without not touching the flat iron when on. Keeps one from burning the counter-top too if it hot and not placed right. I like not having these items all over the counter in the bathroom. Easy to mount and I am happy with it.

I had been looking for something to hang my hairdryer and my wife's flat iron on the wall to get them off of the counter. I had been looking at individual holders but wanted to try this to save on space. It has a single mounting point to the base that moves every time I put the hair dryer back in it. The screws that come with it I don't think are long enough to go through dry wall and mount it securely to a stud. As long as I am gentle when putting the hair dryer in it and don't slam it I am hopeful it will last a little while. If and when I need a new one I will more than likely go back to plan A and purchase 2 separate holders.

I love this holder! It is sturdy, functional and easy to install. I have it placed right under an outlet and keep my straight iron and hairdryer in it at all times. I can heat the straight iron while it is hanging in the holder and it cools in there as well. The only reason this did not get 5 stars is when I have my attachments on the hairdryer, they tend to fall off when I'm taking it out of the holder. I wish the opening was slightly larger to accommodate attachments.

The flat iron and hair dryer holder is just like it appears in the photograph. It was very easy to install, and is very sturdy. The chrome finish is done well and seems as though it will last a long time through daily use. The only drawback is that the holder seems a little plain and would be nice if it came in different finishes to be able to match other fixtures in the bath.

There are no other products like this on the market so had to go 4 stars. Had to buy $8 oil rubbed bronze spray can from Menards to make it work in the bathroom. 5 stars if the product were more sturdy and have a separate mount that can be drilled into the wall (attach the holder with an allen screw to hide all the screws.)

I received the product on the early side of the delivery expectation. The product was as I expected it to be. I installed it on the wall (Not in a stud) using the wall anchors that it came with and it seems very sturdy. The metal piece that attaches to the wall seems heavy enough to support it well and the sheet rock anchors have it snugly in place. I have both my hair dryer and straightener on it full time, and it doesn't appear to have any issues with the weight. I am really pleased with the appearance, it looks great in my bathroom and matches my towel holder nicely.
