Fits perfectly...well made & the fact that the skirt & sleeves are laced on means it can be worn different ways.... Of course it is not as thick as a real gambeson but I'm really not caring if it stops any arrows..... It will look great when I'm done making a mail shirt & it goes well with my Viking helmet... I will probably be the oldest woman in armor at the Ren Faire

Well made costume gambeson. Sleeves & skirt removable for multiple configurations. Quilted layers make it pretty warm (definitely will go sleeveless in summer months)I'm 6'0" 215lbs and 2xl was MASSIVE - I think I'd have fit an XL better, possibly even a Large. But in the spirit of "custom costume" I altered it relatively easily to suit & fit nicely, and added a bunch of flair making it uniquely mine.As noted in other reviews, this is NOT authentic armor, but cosplay analog closely resembling the real thing.Overall pleased, note to future buyers: check, double check and re-check sizing before you order! You probably want it smaller than you think.

Ordered this gambeson for larp purposes. Gambeson fits me exactly as sized, sleeves are a bit long but I am a short lady so it was expected. For the price, you cant beat the quality! Everyone at my park wants one now. Kept me warm when it was 30 degrees outside. Dirt washes off easily and it helps me look and feel great! Armor fits over the top nicely and completes the look. Although it was a little large on me, for costumes this is fantastic. The quality is great, I'm impressed with the stitching and the other features that it has (removable sleeves/skirt). I also got the two-toned Black/White gambeson after messaging them and I could not be happier. Honestly I was floored about how cool it is.On the flip side - If you're looking for something for HEMA or competition of any kind this IS NOT ARMOR. The padding is not what you would expect for authentic HEMA use. Although you could use it, its not incredibly thick nor accurate from what I understand. So use at your own risk on that one.For a ren faire or a costume though, A+++ 5 stars without a doubt.

Came on the earliest day available which was great, the size was a bit wider on the hips and shorter on the arms but that’s mostly because of my awkward body type, I had to melt the ends of the chord holding the pieces together so they wouldn’t fray but overall it’s great! Gets a little overheated inside pretty quick, but it’s quite comfy

The unbelievable price should have been a red flag. From the photos, description, and reviews, I was expecting budget armor, probably not authentic but suitable for training and sparring. The name says ARMOR, and the page has plenty of testimonials from customers who say they've used it for full-contact sparring. I don't know what to make of that.First of all, this is NOT gambeson armor. A gambeson is constructed of many layers (about 18 or more, sources say), of linen. This is a single layer of cotton stitched between an inner and outer lining of stiff cotton. That's fine; like I said, I wasn't looking for accurate reproduction, just a good price on protective gear with a medieval look.This is only slightly thicker than a gi. It does not resist impact like you would need for "full-contact" training with blunt, weighted training swords. You'd be better off sparring in snow gear. It's a beautiful costume, and I'd recommend it for ren faire, but don't expect this to function in any way. Seller needs to remove "armor" from the description and replace it with "costume." Looks like I'll have to spring for professional fencing gear instead.

This gambeson is very thick, warm and well padded. Also, the threaded arms and skirt look very appropriately anachronistic. This item seems like it was tailor made for the recipient, a fairly slender 6ft man with long arms, if that helps anyone with regards to measurements. My item arrived with a few small problems, but the seller is excellent and addressed all my concerns straightaway. 5 stars!!
