Very useful to anyone
As a home building contractor, I used these Calculated Industry Construction Masters many times a week. In the old day, things like cutting rafters, building stairs, calculating amounts of building materials all had to be done the old fashioned way. These calculators saves a ton of time and are always correct if the data is entered correctly. I will also say it s very handy for a lay man or anyone that does things around their house, that involves volume, square footage, adding measurements together and much more. There will be a time when you say to yourself, Jeez, I wish I had bought that

Best invention since sliced bread !!!
This has to be my fifth or sixth Calculated Industries calculator purchase. I have two at my work, two at home, I keep one in my car too. I'm glad that my 4080 Pro came with the rubber armor as this should help with using it in the field and getting dropped. If you want a calculator to do the work of figuring feet and inches, cubic feet, square feet, stair layout, rafter pitch, volumes, board feet, material quantities, ounces, pounds, converting cooking measurements, figuring mortgage rates, time cards, payroll related calculations, handheld machining math, thread data, drill size chart look-ups, speeds and feeds, right triangle solutions, bolt patterns, estimating, takeoffs ...... the list goes on and on and on and on...... If you need a calculator to help with the items mentioned above than look no further than Calculated Industries. I work in a structural engineering office and this is my second 4080 Pro. I love the fact that it has "Trig" functions as well as the basic feet and inch functions. That is about 1% of what this little machine can do. I starting drafting with a 'T' square and now working on Revit so I've seen a lot change in my career. I wish I had the 4080 Pro when I was a younger draftsmen. It is an indispensable tool in my electronic briefcase of gadgets. As long as Calculated Industries is in business and I have a need for their calculators, I will purchase no other brand. Good instructions, ease of use, good battery life.

Been a fan for thirty years!
By trade, I am a structural and miscellaneous steel draftsman. When I started in this line of work, there was a limited amount of calculators to choose from, and most of them required the user to work in decimal form only. Then, I found the feet-inch calculator from Calculated industries. It changed everything for the better. The biggest advantage was that it cut down on the human error. There are times where I will have a string of dimensions to add or subtract. One of the features which aids in this is the "paperless tape". It will keep a running log of the current function the user is performing much like the old adding machine tape. The calculator only got better as time went on. The addition of the trig functions was a huge bonus. Probably the only con I have is it has a limited amount of memory storage. It only has three storable memories, and sometimes, I could really use five or six depending on the formula I have to run. Overall, I am a very satisfied customer...

Way Overkill For What I Needed
When I ordered this unit I didn't realize it was intended for bridge and skyscraper builders! After I got it and tried to use it for the first time I had to stop my project and go online to learn to use it properly for what I needed to do. That took a couple of head scratching hours but finally I got it. Not the fault of the calculator though, thus the 5 stars overall. There is a more basic unit that would have been just fine for my needs (building a two story workshop) and I didn't realize it. This is the TRIGONOMETRY version and like I said if you are planning on building the Golden Gate Bridge or Taj Mahol buy away. Otherwise maybe look for the simpler unit. It did help a lot with the stair risers, rafters, and trusses though but I guess in most areas they won't let you build your own trusses anymore.

Best calculater for draftsman
This is the forth calculator like this I have bought. One a different brand and the other 2 have been from Calculated Industries (Maker of the construction master pro) and this has been the best one so far. I love it's ability to handle feet and inches, built in trig (pich/rise/run calculation) that way I don't have to remember the sign cosign and tangent and how to use them. Built in circular calculations, ability to convert between metric and imperial (feet and in). There are several other functions that are cool, but I do not use, like the ability to figure stairs, figure a compound miter, ex. If you are looking for a calculator for a job site, or as a draftsman in my opinion you can not go wrong with this one.

Excellent Draftsman Tool
I had a bit of an issue with the seller I used during this purchase but I feel it has nothing to do with the quality of the calculator itself. I'm a structural draftsman and I'm constantly reaching for a calculator to help check my work, this calculator his the precision and options I need to get my job done without the need of reaching for a separate device. The input of dimensions is very like the way you would speak the dimensions verbally, if that makes sense, the functions took me a bit of research here and there but the included manual will show you pretty much everything you need to know. Overall this Calculator was a good purchase for my career path.
