Hopper's Functional Pottery
Robin Hopper strikes again! For every potter who wants to get better, there is something to do, something to follow, something new to try. I could go on making the same stuff, day-to-day, month-in, month-out, but I like to stretch my abilities, fail a few times, then learn how to do it the right way. Robin's book, "Functional Pottery" helps me to achieve my goals. I have about 300 books in my pottery library. If I were to be forced to reduce that number to ten, "Functional Pottery" would be one of the keepers.

Integral to a potter's library
I have all of Robin Hopper's books (Functional Pottery, The Ceramic Spectrum, Robin Hopper Ceramics, and Making Marks). As a potter, they have been integral to my development in the field. They are incredibly organized and informative. You can actually learn new techniques from these books. If I were to recommend one author to another potter, it would be Robin Hopper.

Excellent Resource
As always Robin Hopper does not fail to please. This book is packed throughout with valuable and helpful information. If you're a production potter or would like to be -- or if you just want to make better wares for your own home or teach your pottery students how to make pieces they will enjoy and be satisfied with, you will love this book.
