Review: Nice to add on a hi-hat - Really nice addition to my Sabian Stratus Hi-Hats. They add a great sound, are seemingly durable, and function well. They're also a nice size and I've never accidentally hit them with my sticks. I use 14" hi-hats and these were large enough to sound good, set well on the cymbal, and small enough to not hit with my sticks. I tried making a stack with these, which was the original intent in buying them, and I didn't like it. But, that might be my fault for not really knowing what I'm doing. They're great on hi-hats, though, and for the price you simply can't go wrong.
Review: Sounds cool. - It sounds good on hihats, foot chick is like a full tambourine, stick on hihat is just a little tambourine. I though it would sound cool on toms but it muted the head too much for my taste. It makes a cools sizzle sound on cymbals. I got the dry version, I might try the one with a foam ring to have more control over when there's tambourine . I had trouble playing it quietly with the hihat foot.

## Features

- QUICK TAMBOURINE EFFECT: the Meinl Ching Ring goes directly on your cymbal to blend tambourine sounds while you play; it instantly changes your cymbal feel, live or in the studio
- WHY IT MATTERS: you get a lot of new sounds anywhere on your drum kit with a small accessory that requires no attachments; toss it on your cymbal, and let gravity hold it down
- HOW IT WORKS: five pairs of zinc jingles are mounted with rivets on a light zinc frame to react seamlessly with your playing; zinc has a dry tone to give you an earthy sound
- OF NOTE: if you have the Ching Ring on your hihats, it adds a nice sparkle when you hit the cymbals with your sticks, and it lets your hihat foot patterns shine
- GO DEEPER: it creates buzzing high-end on crashes, rides and effects, plus, you get a sampled drum effect if you put it on a snare or floor tom; there's no limit on where to place the Ching Ring (try more than one around your setup)
- SAFE FOR ANY FINISH: the Meinl Ching Ring is safe to use on all cymbal finishes and alloys
- BY THE NUMBERS: the universal size frame has a 4 1/2" wide opening to fit most cymbals, and the whole Ching Ring measures 6" across; it weighs about 4 ounces
- THE BIG PICTURE: Meinl is a family-owned musical instrument manufacturer and brand established 1951 in Germany; our expert German designers have deep relationships with our builders to ensure you're delivered the absolute finest quality

Such an inexpensive way to enhance your kit. The only problem is figuring out where to put it! Sounds good on high hats, but also on the crash and splash!
