Great desk lamp. It looks much better in person. The 2 levels of the base are made of Slate. The color of the slate, metal supports, and shade itself are very attractive. My only complaint is that the design of this lamp places the shade, the bulb, and electrical stuff, out in front of the base, causing this lamp to be a bit top heavy, meaning with the slightest pull, the whole lamp could fall forward. I put a couple of felt pads under the base in the front, to make it lean back just a bit, and it now feels more secure. But to be safe, I don't think you could place this desk lamp anywhere if you or someone or a child or a pet could easily bump it, as it might fall over. It's on my desk up against a wall with no risk of getting bumped. I put a strong LED bulb in it, and plugged it into a wall socket that is on a dimmer switch. That way, I can have it full strength when at my desk, or have it dimmed which provides a wonderful soft amber glow to the room. I looked at many desk lamps before deciding on this one. I'm very glad I found it. It fits my decor and my taste, is well made with hardy materials, very reasonably priced, and looks wonderful, so I'm giving it 5 stars.

My partner bought a new desk and was looking for a really nice desk lamp for it - we weren't thrilled with the choices available and at one point, I suggested he get one just like mine. Because he's always liked the one on my desk, we decided to purchase another - and he's really pleased with it. In my opinion, it's fitting for either a masculine or feminine office and we both really like the 'natural' look of it. It also uses a bulb bright enough to work with and warm enough to maintain that 'homey' feeling. We're both very pleased with this lamp - no complaints!

Pretty lamp in the pictures, though I never took it completely out of the box. - Sadly, the shade was broken into several pieces.

We broke our bankers lamp that sat high on the computer desk and I was looking at various stores and could not find a "nice" looking one. This lamp is high quality. It has a light colored green with brown base, attractive and heavy to keep lamp very sturdy and slip resistant when turning off and on. Chain is easy to reach and pulls easily. Shade is glass. Actually design wise looks just like picture, but in person very much classier looking. Very pleased with purchase. Kind of happy our old one got broken.

I bought this lamp because I wanted a "different looking" bankers lamp, and I wasn't disappointed when I received it. It is a handsome looking lamp. Although the shade is yellower then in the picture, it doesn't detract from the appearance. That's the good part. The bad part is that the lamp has a very narrow base and will fall forward with just a SLIGHT forward motion on the pull chain. Considering the shade is thick and the lamp is heavy, this can potentially result in a dangerous situation if it falls on your fingers on hand or the shade shatters, the user could get cut, etc. When the lamp falls, it comes crashing down quickly. I try to pull the chain up and down in a perfectly straight motion every time, but the fact is, I don't, and remember, it only takes a slight forward pulling motion to topple the lamp. More good part. The company was great about it and accepted the return, paid for the return shipping and issued the credit the day I delivered the package to UPS. I can't say enough good things about how this company handled my problem. If the lamp's base was just a little deeper it would solve the problem, or perhaps I had a defective lamp, but I wasn't going to take a chance on another one. Too dangerous.

Although it has sort of old school look to it, it's not quite what I expected. I thought the base would make the lamp heavier. while the color of the base is what I like, it isn't as sturdy as I had hope. the shade is more yellow than cream - much darker than the picture. it is glass, but it has bubbles and feels weak. the pull chain looks like it was just painted. when I pulled the bubble wrap off, some of the paint from the ball stuck to the plastic. the ball has the imprint from the plastic wrap. But, I do appreciate the bulb being included in the box.

Fantastic light. Great color for the lamp and the off-white/cream colored shade is easy on the eyes. The weight is perfect-- you should not be able knock it over very easily, but it's not so heavy that you can't move it. On the "pull chain" end of the lamp, I'm getting a "shadowing" light pattern. This may be due to the LED type of bulb that I selected. I will try another style of bulb to resolve the issue. Any suggestions??GJM
