I love Wilton products! This cake board is no exception. It is really sturdy to be able to hold the weight of a heavy wedding cake. It was really pretty with the silver covering to make it match the wedding décor. I would recommend highly.

Super Sturdy! This saved my daughters wedding cake...Literally! I put the finished cake on this for stability and Thank God I did. We hit the brakes and I heard something hit inside the box and wanted to cry certain the cake was ruined. Thankfully the extra 2 inches this base gave the cake SAVED it! I was able to wash up the base and can use it at a later date. Thanks for making such a sturdy base.

Good product. I have bought several times. I will be buying in bulk as Wilton paper products are far too pricey. Would love to buy a reusable cake drum for the cakes I make for my family. I haven't been able to find one, so maybe I will have to make my own.

You get TWO cake boards in the package, not just one as the title implies. This base is recommended to use under heavy cakes. It is suggested in the third Wilton decorating class, "Gum Paste and Fondant", that you bring this board or tape two regular twelve inch cake boards together and cover them with foil. Believe me, this one works better since it's the thickness of at least three regular cake boards and the foil on it is quite smooth which makes covering it with fondant (for decoration and to give you more space to put borders/flowers etc.) a whole lot easier. This board is pretty much a one time use product especially if you cover it with fondant (Using piping gel to 'glue' the fondant to the board is common practice and once dried pretty much sticks like glue). It is sturdy and will easily hold an 8, 9 or 10 inch cake while leaving you a bit of room around the bottom for additional decoration. Whether you cover this base or not, I would still recommend you put a regular cake board, the size of your cake underneath your cake for ease of cutting. I could also see this base being used for kids to make dioramas for school. It won't bend and has a lot of surface area to work with. I purchased a plastic box at Michaels, about 14 inches square to transport my covered cake board to and from class. Afterwards, I used the box to store my various cake rounds in. I dinged this one star for price, because it seems a bit much for what you get.

I used this cake base for transporting a wedding cake, it was really sturdy and I did not have to ask for it to be returned, as you do when you use your plastic cake plates, it was a great way to go!

I bought these to use for a tiered birthday cake I made for my daughter. My local bakery supply was out of the correct size and I was in a time crunch, and they arrived quickly through Prime. I needed something heavier than the standard cardboard bases. This worked very well. I will actually be able to reuse the same base again. After cleaning it still looked new.

These cake bases are so simple yet effective. Since they are foil covered all you have to do when finished is wipe it down with a wet sponge to clean. I could use a plate but my plates are not flat and these add a little Bling with the silver. Reasonable cost and easy to store.

Nice cake base. Could be a bit thicker but still very good and sturdy enough. Happy about the purchase. Worth the money.

Actually, i am looking for cake board not base, but i did not return the item, so far the item is good and high quality.
