Unlike modern plastic 'baskets', this set exudes so much charm! It is also sturdy and very usable. The only difficulty is fitting in a wine bottle in the carrier along with food. It's a bit awkward to close, but do-able if you're careful. Entire set appears very sturdy. I have only used it once so far, but was very pleased. Utensils are stronger and more usable than I imagined. Included plastic containers are just average, and I ended up using my own which fit better around the wine bottle, but everything else in the set is exquisite, sturdy, and charming.

The Girlfriend loved opening up this gift. The basket itself is made of really good quality, as are all of the components. Honestly, when I saw the price of the thing I thought it was a ripoff, but my girl wanted something like this so I picked it up. I am glad I did, as the items are all durable, and of good quality. The basket is large enough to have a nice sized picnic, and it comes with everything you need for the picnic except the wine and food. It is worth the money.

Reduced from how much?Firstly, items that make up the set are not what is pictured, napkins are different, glasses have major quality flaws, cheap glass, and some sort of film that you can feel with a finger nail, that is resistant to everything known to man kind. Well known to my wife anyway.I am ashamed to give this as a gift, even to my mother In law.Way too much money for cheap basket, would be better off buying a basket and sourcing the parts.I am speaking to the company direct, for advice, and then will return it. For years I have considered upgrading to a classic picnic basket and this one was worth the wait! Each item from the stainless flatware to the thermal zipper cooler is impressively done. This will surely make your picnic a special event. It was also a nice surprise that the 8" porcelain plates came with a green plaid trim that matches the cotton napkins. The only down side is we can only get one bottle of wine in the basket at a time. Our solution is to purchase the Picnic Time Vino Wine and Cheese Basket for Two! Having both sizes will give us more excuses to make every hike and afternoon stroll special. Highly recommend!

I bought this as a wedding gift for my very dear friend who already has everything. I plan to pack it with food and wine to take with them on their honeymoon. The quality is top notch. Most picnic baskets have plastic ware. This is porcelain with genuine flatware. The basket is huge and will have no problem holding fruit, bread, chocolate and muffins. The extras (bottle cooler, food cooler and blanket) are also of top quality. The basket is well built with strong leather straps that holds all of the parts securely in place. If you want a nice gift, go this set.

I gave this as a Christmas gift and couldn't be happier with it. The construction is sturdy and the whole thing just feels so "upper crust." I especially love that every item has a place, and all with leather straps to secure them -- even a pair of straps on the outside to hold the rolled up blanket. This is expensive, but it's really pretty classy.Update June 20, 2012: I'm overall happy with this basket, but I tested the plates with a lead testing kit sold here on Amazon (3M LC-8S20C Lead Check Swabs, 8 Pack) and the plates tested positive. I'm lowering my rating from 5 to 3 stars because this is pretty inexcusable being a food plate. Fortunately the small plates are about the same size as standard bread plates and so I'm able to use my own instead. If you buy this I suggest getting a couple of replacement plates such as these Corelle Livingware 6-3/4-Inch Bread and Butter Plate, Winter Frost White.

This is the perfect Picnic basket for a romantic picnic. It has everything you need for a romantic summer dinner in a park. It includes wine glasses, silverware, plates, blanket, cooler/heater bag, and leather bindings to hold everything in place. The basket is well made, and seems rugged enough for a short hike through the woods. It is fairly large, but it is not too large, or too heavy.
