Full of beautiful patterns to try. Can’t wait to finish my list of makes (2 adult sweaters and a set of mitts and headband in Fair Isle) and then I can get started.

There are some truly lovely patterns in this book BUT it is not written for the British knitter and takes some working out!

Lovely book

This is an exquisitely well presented book with gorgeous photos, the designs and pictures have a very autumnal feel which make you want to curl up in front of the fire with wool and needles. It could happily take pride of place on the coffee table for others to enjoy too!The book is aimed at intermediate to experienced knitters and I would not recommend if you have no experience with cables, however I consider myself an advanced beginner and after reading through I feel that someone with a bit of confidence could tackle these patterns. I am currently knitting one of the jumpers and have found the instructions easy to follow, they are a mix of written and charted. One small gripe I have is that the print quality of the charts could be slightly clearer.I really like that there are some sample cable pattern squares in the back for you to have a practice with (or incorporate into your own designs)There are jumpers for all the family but also some smaller projects if you're looking for a quick(er) knit, i.e hats, cowls, wrist warmers. A couple of the patterns I personally feel are a little old fashioned but there are plenty others to choose from.One thing I did find helpful was that the guage for the patterns is in stocking stitch so you don't have to swatch up a section of cables to get your guage right.If you are looking for a book with beautiful cables then I don't think you will be disappointed, i'm certainly not and can't wait to finish a jumper for my young son.

I love, love, love this book. So nice to see a great range of modern cable knits for all ages and abilities. Instructions are clear and easy to follow.

A lovely book with beautiful photos and fabulous patterns but..... I found the charts impossible to understand I think it is me rather than the book but still quit frustrating, good luck !

入れすぎてもゴテゴテで重くなる、少なすぎても編んで面白くない…………縄編みのデザインって意外と難しいと思っています。編む側として。この本のデザインはどれもすっきりしたデザインでした。編んでみなければバランスが取れているかはわかりませんが、買ってよかったと思いました。デザイナーの方は男性のデンマークの方のようです。Ravelryにこの本が紹介されていて、表紙のセーターがステキだったので予約して楽しみにしていました。ユニーク、というほどとがったデザインはありませんが、縄編みの変形デザインに時にはっとするときめくデザインがあります。

It is a beautiful book and I will use it to knit some yummy knits.

Good for intermediate knitters. Excellent illustrations of techniques. Too many little items to interest more experienced knitters.
