Good value
What can I say, the cats seem to like it.

The best priced can cat food that my cat thrives on.
I have an older cat that has always had a sensitive stomach and would vomit several times a day. She no long has a meow from the damage to her vocal cords from all the vomiting. I have tried every brand out there including for sensitive stomachs up to the most expensive. This brand she loves and keeps down, I can feed her more then a tablespoon at a time and not worry at all. She's thriving on it but the tuna with egg does have a very strong odor but I don't care she keeps it down and the cost is unbelievably cheap. Love it.

My cat loves the 9 Lives
I gave it a 5 for flavor, although I've never tasted it and don't intend to. My cat loves it and the first thing he does is lick all the gravy off of it. He gets half a can twice a day and if I forget he's very vocal about reminding me. He also has Iams dry food always available. I have monthly delivery for his Nine Lives and it's so much easier than going to the store and hoping they have his food stocked. Plus it comes to my door so I'm not lugging boxes of canned cat food. The variety pack seems to keep him from getting bored with it.

Yummy Chunks My 3 Cats Enjoy
This cat food does a decent job of covering cats basic dietary needs. I feed my cats Call of the Wild dry food twice a week. I feed them natural raw and canned meats twice a week. And I feed them 9lives canned foods for the other three days. They definitely prefer 9lives canned foods to any other kind of food. This variety pack is their second favorite kind of food- they tend to more readily eat the Fish Flavors variety pack- which is normal, as the smell for those foods is more potent and palatable for cats (they do a majority of their tasting, like dogs, with their noses). One person who rated this pack 1 star on Amazon noted that their cats would only lick the gravy off of the food. This is normal behavior and my cats do the same thing. It typically means your cats aren't drinking enough water and their body is telling them to eat liquid instead of solids. Add about 4 tablespoons of water to these cans of food and your cats will not only lick the gravy, but eat the bits as well. To continue to debunk other's reviews, I'd also like to comment on the woman who rated 1 star and said this food made her cats sick. She also said she changed the food. Cats stomachs are very sensitive. Unless you typically interchange their foods, they're stomachs will become adapt to the kind you feed them and easily get upset by other kinds. I feed my cats a natural variety of foods. Not only is it healthier for them, it keeps their digestive system from becoming week to new foods. What I'm assuming happened was that she changed to 9lives abruptly without slowly incorporating the new food into her cats diet. When changing to a new food, always do so by mixing it into their old food, and slowly adding more portions over time. Okay- now onto why I rated this food 4 stars. Health-wise it's not the best, but it's certainly not the worse. The ingredients are fairly basic. There are a few preservatives and unnecessary additives, but nothing that makes me go "Oh no! I can't feed this to my cats!". It's kind of like cheeseburgers for people. They're healthy for us, in moderation. We shouldn't eat them every day, but a few times a week wouldn't hurt. Compared to other foods on the market though, this food is pretty high in basic nutritional needs. There are three kinds in this variety pack. Shredded turkey (ground turkey and chicken pressed and then shredded). This is a light tan meat, covered in tan sauce. Very easy for cats to eat and digest. Great for kittens and older cats. The second is chicken chunks (chickens scraps pressed into chunks). This is a white and brown meat, covered in a tan sauce. The third is beef chucks (beef and chicken scraps pressed into chunks covered in a dark brown sauce). This is a brown meat covered in a brown sauce. My three cats enjoy all three, but turkey is probably their favorite. They sometimes get a bit picky with the chicken and beef, but will eventually eat it if I don't feed them something else. The serving size in these cans is appropriate for adult cats. I feed my cats two meals a day. Half a can for each meal. The chicken and beef chunks are better for adult cats- as they're a bit small for kittens. But kittens could easily eat the turkey shreds. The cans have a pull tab that is easy to open. They're small and compact and easy to store. Unlike other brands of cat (and dog) food, I've never had these cans arrive dented. THANK YOU 9LIVES FOR QUALITY CONTROL! I swear, every other brand sends dented cans. Never have that problem with 9Lives. Overall, good food. Could be a bit healthier and 'natural', but the cats like it and for the price it's unbeatable ($9.00 a case on Amazon with free Prime shipping as of 2/5/2014).

Cats have Fancy Feast tastes, owners on 9 Lives budgets
I have 9 Lives Turkey and Seafood wet cat food on Subscribe and Save. We have 3 cats who eat 6 cans of food a day. We ran out a little earlier than expected because our cats tricked me into feeding them twice a day for a week by insisting the cat feeder (husband) forgot to feed them in the morning. Just to switch things up I ordered this Beef and Poultry version. When they smelled something new in their bowls the gorged themselves silly and then meowed insistently for more food. They haven’t acted like that since the time I bought a case of Fancy Feast on clearance. My cats can’t read so I think they thought they got some fancy expensive cat food again😸. I guess I’ll mix this formulation into the cats food rotation from now on. I love my fur babies and it’s funny to watch them thinking they are getting spoiled. Enough about cats— the food is the weird shredded and chunked food rather than a pate. Also, these cans seem to have more gravy than the other shredded foods. It’s also slightly less smelly than the seafood version. The cans have a top tab for opening. 9 Lives is a well priced cat food, especially if you have several cats to feed. The ingredients appear similar to most other budget-friendly brands. I included a picture of my cats napping off their big meal just because cat pictures are adorable 😻 Hope you found this review helpful.
