Feathers and Urns: Rhapsody Quilts: Design Companion Vol. 1 to Ricky Tims' Rhapsody Quilts

Ricky Tims has several of these companion books out for the Rhapsody Quilt book. All are very good. (My same review for all the additional books by the way...they are all great) I have bought them all and actually incorporating several different types of designs into one quilt. The full size wax paper sheets are wonderful to work with and for doing my first rhapsody quilt it was very helpful to have a design I liked already drawn out and full size to begin working with. I have been doing my first quilt to learn and perfect skills and having the patterns to work with and then modify to my style was/is great.You do have to have the main book Rhapsody Quilts for detailed instructions on construction methods. These are just nice additions to the book. Ricky had a great product here, what a smart idea! Good job Ricky!I recommend this book and all the others too. Easy to follow and the quilt I am making is turning out great.

Ricky Tims makes the most gorgeous quilts... and he's so prolific! Find an image of his "Bohemian Rhapsody" quilt online, to see the first quilt of his I ever saw... it hooked me immediately! He has great talent at instruction, while leaving room for you to improvise and put your own stamp on your quilt design. He has patterns and kits to make exact copies of some of his quilts too, if you prefer to avoid the stress of designing and selecting fabrics. LOVE his machine appliqué using the double blanket stitch (aka pin stitch)!

A good pattern book but you will need the instructions book to be able to use the pattern with ease.

This has several great patterns that can be used by all levels of quilters. If you like applique and want to do a medallion, this is worth a look.

Rick is genious, makes a very clear understanding of the Rapsody Quilts.

I have purchased a few of Rickies book and have found his instructions that came with this book easy to follow and have already designed a Rhapsody quilt just colors to sort. Also having the design printed on Freezer paper a real boon saved a lot of time.
