Start-X Car Remote Starter Kit for Toyota RAV4 (2013-2018)

I bought for my daughter’s RAV. Super easy to install. Easy to follow instructions and programming. Maybe took 30 minutes to install. She loves it.

This review is to state this product works as stated. I spent a little more on this so I wouldn't have to splice any wires and it was worth it. Yes I have installed remote starters before on my suvs (GMC Terrain, Honda CR-V, Ford Escape) so I do have experience. This one is straight forward. Follow the video and you should be up and running in 20-30 easy. I did get a little mixed up with programming so I had to reset and I messed up with which harness plugs in but customer service got me through that (customer service was busy and I did have to wait on phone for over 50 minutes, man I hate the theme from James Bond now) so 3 presses of lock button and my Rav4 starts right up

I was so excited to find this remote start, as I have been doing a few upgrades in my 2013 RAV4 XLE myself (with my dad's help). This was by far the easiest install we've done, and I didn't even need help. My dad just assisted with the running the wires from the passenger side to the driver's side. We did it in an hour and so far it works great. Best of all, if it fails, I can easily remove it. But I expect it to continue to work well. An easy DIY job that has added to value to my car and makes it so much more comfortable.

Well, I really liked it quite a lot, and it gets going quickly too.

I'm very familiar with cars and install took me 10-15 minutes, running wires and plugging them into the main module. Everything comes included in the box, zip ties to an (optional) hood pin switch. There is a very helpful instructional video on YouTube and the written directions were easy to follow as well. The only thing that was not shown in the video however is the mounting location of the module, other than that I'm very pleased and happy with the purchase. Winters start ups will be a little easier now. Many thanks.

EDIT: 1/3/26- I’ve gone through two batteries. This remote start causes a parasitic drain. I have a viper remote start on my other vehicle and there is no drain. Unfortunately I had to remove this device and go with my first choice Viper. Just spend the extra to get a system that won’t drain your battery. Really disappointed, this was such a cool idea! So easy!! This is going to help so much with the central California heat! It was so quick and easy to install and the instructions are clear as day!

I have has this remote starter for about 6 months. It has not failed me. The plug and play aspect is excelent and even my mechanic who installed it was impressed with the ease it went in. A far cry from the price of a factory instalation! I highly recommend this product. Click your link button three times and your vehicle comes to life. On press on the brake to change gears and the vehicle stops running is the perfect theft deterrent. We'll worth the price.

Got it installed a month ago, decided not to do it on my own and found a mechanic that installs them. (Called over 10, most of them don't install them). It hasn't been all too cold yet, and it has already made life so much better. Can't wait to enjoy it during winter.

Installed on my own in less than an hour. Watched video a couple times before installing which was helpful. Programming did not work like video showed. I ended up skipping first step because green light on module did not come on, and it still miraculously worked.
