My biggest concern was based on the product photo, which looks like the desk has a flat foam cushion. I am most comfortable when I can angle the lap desk, so I really wanted a beanbag base. I read through a bunch of reviews and finally found one that made it seem like this lap desk had exactly that, so I took the chance and am so glad I did! I am so comfortable using this. It stays put on my lap, sits at a nice angle, and holds my phone perfectly. The small lip at the bottom prevents books, tablets, and e-readers from sliding so that you don’t need to hold it. The elastic strap in the corner is a nice little feature that can hold papers, pens, or in my case, my book tabs.
