KeurigV500 Vue Brewer
C**H
I researched single cup coffee makers intensely.
My main desires were a coffee maker that made a hot cup of coffee and could use a reusable coffee cup. My husband wanted a one cup maker because he didn't like the coffee sitting in the carafe. I looked at every single cup brewer on the market and read the reviews for them. I eliminated any that didn't meet my 2 criteria. That left about 3 brands.I was not going to get a Keurig after reading the reviews of the home brewers. They consistently had bad reviews over the pumps giving out, but then I stumbled on the commercial Keurigs and they had much better reviews. I guess they make them with better materials since they assume they get more use at an office as opposed to at home. The pluses for this Keurig are; it has a removable water reservoir, water temperature selections, and I found a reusable coffee cup that fits the V500.I chose 4 stars instead of 5 because I add cream to my coffee so I need it to be brewed hot. It barely makes it hot enough for me on the hottest setting without having to microwave it to make it hotter. But that being said, it is working out well and I am pleased with this coffee maker. I've had it for about 2 months now, and I will add to this review when I have had it longer.

Not what I expected...
I looked at all the Keurig brewers before I finally decided on the V500. I learned it had a good-sized water reservoir and that it would make 16 ounces of coffee, that it heated up fast, and produced the beverage in about a minute. BUT, I didn't know it used something other than KCups, that there are only a few different VUE Packs available as yet, and that they are much more expensive when and if you can even find them. WalMart, for instance, has a huge selection of KCups but only 4 different VUE Packs on their shelves. COSTCO has huge inexpensive boxes of KCups but not a single VUE Pack in the store. The brewer itself however, does an excellent job: the coffee is much stronger and better tasting than when made from the KCups - but, I wouldn't have bought it had I known it was completely different from the ubiquitous Keurig Brewers that use the KCups. I've contacted Keurig about the lack of coffee/tea brands available and they've said they are adding new selections all the time. I hope the price of the VUE Packs will also go down. Before you buy on of the VUE Brewers, be sure you understand that this is a completely different system from the KCup Brewers.

Great Christmas Gift For The Wife... Just Make Sure To Buy The K Cup Adapter!!
Christmas gift for my wife and she simply LOVES it!The touchscreen is pretty simple to navigate through. It has selectable strength "regular" and "strong" and ounce size for your mug or cup (I believe up to 14ounces). The spill tray is removable for your travel mug to slide in or in my wife's case tilt it just a little bit to get the travel mug to fit under, but then it lays level (at least with her 16 ounce travel mug).I am not a coffee drinker, so I will have to rely on her for the next comment... She tells me that when selecting 10/12/14 ounces you need to use the "Strong" brew strength otherwise it's too weak in taste. She is a one cup a day kinda woman (maybe), so I would assume from that that it's pretty weak when not on "Strong" brewing for those sizes. I cannot comment on 8 ounce brewing because we've never used it.**** Also, YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY A 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 ADAPTER!!! This will only brew "VUE CUPS" otherwise! They are more difficult to find!!****They are cheap enough to buy and slide right into the slot to allow you to brew "K" cups

The Vue or the Elite?
We chose the Vue because of the size which seemed to be smaller than the Elite which we had previously. The dimensions are somewhat less but it really doesn't seem to take up less room on the counter. We really like the way it operates and the coffee is quite hot which is nice. The one negative is that it doesn't use the typical K-cups which are available at almost any food store. It only uses the Vue cups which have limited availability locally. I have actually only found them at one retail outlet which makes it a bit inconvenient. The one real plus is the plastic part of the Vue cup is recyclable which is extremely important to us. I have purchased a Solofill so we can use ground coffee if necessary. Overall we really like the Vue and would recommend it.

some hidden facts..
i really like the product but everyone should know that when you want to buy the paks for it, you have to go to bed, bath and beyond, or places like that..its never sold in regular retail grocery chains..a real PIA as far as picking up product for it..i order online now, which has helped some....but prices are still outrageous for the product itself..one other thing..just read some of the other reviews on this product and someone mentioned receiving a special solofil adapter with it?? I never got one with mine when i purchased it from amazon seller..hmm..now I feel cheated. I also read where many were pretty much complaining about same issue of not having the Vue cups available in many stores. I did complain about this even with the mfgr., who obviously could care less.kc

Absolutely love my keurig
I looked at so many different keurigs I was completely confused on which one or kind to buy. I found this one at a great price and the frothing feature really sealed the deal for me. It takes vue cups which are rather hard to find in my area, I've only found them at bed bath and beyond, but you can get an adaptor for the k cups to work in it. It's very simple to use. it has an automatic turn on and off feature plus an automatic shut off you can set for so many hours. You can set the temperature as well. My taller cups don't fit with the drip tray in so I pull out the silver ring and put it in the base of the drip tray just in case of spills. works like a charm! definitely happy I got this keurig. I'm addicted for sure! Also I got my keurig for free by saving up free Amazon gift cards I earned!!!
