Lasting Quality
This by far the best chiminea, bar none. Outstanding materials quality - Thick aluminum casting & all stainless steel hardware won't rust or crack. No worries about leaving this out in the weather! The inside bottom grates are nice to keep air under the wood. Removable stack w/ a small cooking grate (included) is a nice idea. Perfect size for our deck & can be placed in a corner without fear of burning the railing or privacy divider. Minor handling marks touched-up easily w/ included bottle of high temp. paint - fully cured upon 1st use. The front grill & latch took a bit of trial & error to adjust the position, but w/ a little patience, can be set to perfectly align with each other and the front of the opening. The side rings not only look good, but are useful to move it. This is far better than our clay chiminea that cracked and broke apart or any of the flimsy sheet metal ones that we've seen that rust out. This chiminea is well worth the price as it will essentially last indefinitely.

Nice, but not for use in even slightly enclosed areas
I've had two clay chimineas. Both were great, but inevitably started chipping and flaking until the base finally cracked. The cost was just too high to keep buying them every two to three years. This Blue Rooster chiminea is great in comparison. It's very lightweight for its size, but thick enough that I don't think I need to worry about damaging it accidentally. The design is beautiful, assembly was easy, and it should last me decades unless I back a car into it or a significantly large tree limb falls onto it.The only issue is ventilation. The opening at the front is huge, around 20 inches. And the exit hole for the chimney is decently large at around 10 inches. But the neck of the chimney narrows significantly, down to only 4-5 inches near the top. It's just not wide enough to let all the smoke out. I made sure I removed the cooking grate, and even took out the spark arrestor screen, but still I have almost as much smoke exiting the front of the chiminea as the actual chimney pipe itself. In my back yard, in an open area with no obstacles, it's not horrible, but it does mean I need to be careful about chair placement, and if the wind shifts I might need to get up and move. And forget about using this anywhere with walls or large bushes, it'll turn into a smokehouse just as much using a fire pit, because the design is pushing a significant amount of smoke out the front in a stream right towards you. So I just can't give a 5 star review. The whole purpose of a chiminea is that it directs the smoke upwards to keep it out of your face. This design does reduce the smoke, but only by maybe 50%. I'm keeping it, and it'll be great when there's a breeze, but on dead still evenings I'll probably skip the fire.

Disappointed
We bought this because a chimenea is suppose to channel the smoke upwards, not like our open firepit. But the smoke comes out the front almost as much as the chimney. Disappointed. Plus the front door is very flimsy and loose. Would have expected better quality for the huge price.

Quality product
Product was packed very well, no damage at all. Easy to assemble, screen latch was already pre-installed. Expensive but very good quality. Throws off decent heat for a chiminea, nothing crazy though as it's not a firepit. Set on a paver patio so I filled the bottom with some sand to protect the pavers. Paint still looks new after 5 fires. I am very happy with the purchase.

Yes
I purchased this in April or so and have used it almost once or twice a week since then. It’ll need a new coat of paint soon. This is a great product, lots of people have enjoyed it, and it brings me good peace of mind. I fashioned the door securely so that if I got to bed and there are a couple of embers still going, I can rest assured that it’s safe. It throws a lot of heat, and it looks good. I’d like to purchase a smaller one to go camping with. Maybe in s few years I’ll plan to do that. Until then, this product is awesome. No rust issues so far. It’s safe, good looking and very functional.

Pretty happy with this CHiminea
Pretty happy with this CHiminea. We had been using clay ones prior to this and they would crack after 1-2 years of use. SOme failed within the first few months. Ive had this for about 3 years not and it just keeps getting better with age. I season it with old fryer oil about twice a year. I have never covered it and rust has not been an issue. I also added a metal Chimney to mine to get the smoke above us during windy days. works pretty good. My only disappointment I would say is the door was not installed correctly. it does not stay open on its own. I believe the holes for it were not drilled correctly. Overall, great quality... I believe this thing will outlast me.

Rooster
Solid basic construction--Had cast iron for 20 years --interesting to see how Aluminum stands up.The basic chiminea is outstandingly constructed and gives off an outstanding burn.Latch materials are so -so --we burn alot -so expect maybe five years and then they will need some work. The poker they provide is pretty much useless --cheap - funny because the C itself appears outstanding. And yes it is nice to look at.

Heavy, Rusts, Fit and Finish is Novice.
As advertised, it is HEAVY. As stated it will rust, but it will arrive with rust. After following the directions to cure the paint to preserve the paint, the rust further spread. After removing the rust, preparing the surface per the instructions and applying the included touch-up paint, and curing the paint again, it rusted. The exhaust opening is rough, uneven, and crudely ground. There is no lip on the inside for the fire grate to sit on, so you must be careful placing logs inside or it will slip. The fitting between the two large pieces is also unrefined allowing smoke to escape. On the positive, it does look good. Fire does burn.
