I'm not a pro and this is way more slicer than I need. This review is based on using if for the first time to slice turkey breast, corned beef, and prosciutto.The slicer was packed very well and it had to be considering its weight (38 lbs). The manual is absolutely useless and can be thrown in the garbage. I have no idea how to take it apart to clean it so I kinda winged it.It's extremely quiet and I was very pleased with the ability of thin slicing. The prosciutto came out paper thin and I'm looking forward to doing some roast beef. It does have a relatively short "stroke" so I had to either manipulate the meat by angling it or I had to cut it down in order get it to fit. Also noticed that if the output pile gets too high, a slice can get sucked back up into the blade and become a shredded mess. Easily corrected by moving the slices away regularly however.It was not easy to clean but I'm assuming I'll figure out more efficient methods in time. Considering what you pay for other commercial slicers, this one seems to be a pretty good deal.

Received this yesterday. Little to no assembly. It is heavy, about 35 pounds. Good quality, food surface is all stainless steel, other is painted cast aluminum. Control has a good solid feel and On/Off switch is covered with soft silicon to keep out juices. Very quiet operation, came with a sharpening attachment as well as an extra drive belt. I cut some shaved ham and roast beef deli style that was almost paper thin. All in all a good buy for me
