3-Style Scalloped, Arched & Straight Cornice Kit

I purchased the Traceable designer valance kit in May, I was so nervous to put it together, I sent a message to the creator and I got a phone call from Linda, yes I never expected this however she called and could not be kinder and full of help. Once I got my confidence I cut my fabric after I ironed the backing heat and bond. That is what gives the valance a professional finish. A braided ribbon and onion tassels was what I used for the hem, glue gun to attach and presto, pure beauty.. My challenge was daring I went for a huge project 12 feet 7 inches wide. My salvation was using the floor to piece it together. I used wood and stapled it together and with L shape brackets, one side screwed on to my board the other side of the bracket screwed straight into the ceiling. After my valance I went for a smaller project I-build a cornice made out of wood and vinyl, This starter kit saved me thousands of dollars from a professional fee to a do it yourself kit with patience and guts. Go for it, the transformation from plain windows to fabulous. If you like to decorate no project is completed unless your window make a statement. I bought this window treatment kit and few weeks ago and LOVE IT! It’s so easy to use with so many options and instructions for different styles. You can truly create anything you want! There’s infinite possibilities for stunning custom window treatments. I’m so excited to have found this! They add such an elegant look to your home. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get on the one I made. People Can’t believe I did it myself but it was so easy! Can’t wait to make more for all my windows.

4 stars only because the learning curve is a bit of a challenge but can be mastered with patience and attention. The videos on line with the product are a must. It will also be extremely helpful if you have a large surface (padded) so that you can iron the project while completely flat. I used my ironing board for my first valance, a simple one, and found it cumbersome and not very efficient. I am ordering one of those flat ironing pads for my sewing table before I start my next project.

I found this product to be reasonably easy to work with to produce a custom valance. I really like that I will be able to use this kit to make other styles of valances for my home. The results look professional. The only problem that I had with this product was that the directions seemed a bit confusing at times causing me to read then re-read several times before I could move on to the next step. Valance added a pop of color to a 3x5 ft. powder room in a 110 year old house. I am very pleased.

Multiple instructions. Impossible to understand for me. Had to pay to return this!

Instructions are very difficult to follow. Written for multiple styles but very unclear. Definitely not worth the cost. I ended up making my own stencil and wasted a lot of fabric trying to follow her Instructions. Would not recommend.

Great product. Could not have made curtains without it

I hesitated at first, due to the price but everything you need is included in this kit. Easy to follow instructions (and YouTube videos are available) to turn out custom looking valances. Patterns are vinyl and re-useable.
