Partnership in psychological therapy
I highly recommend this book!CBT is a hands-on, holistic approach to psychological intervention that could be beneficial to nearly anyone, and this book does a great job of explaining what it is and how it is used. The detailed examples paint a picture and are very to the point, connecting all of the dots. The information is well written and separated in a way that makes it easy for any reader to understand.

Great Info Inside!
This is a great text for learning about CBT. Whether you are a student of psychology or someone looking into treatment programs there is a lot to learn here. While the intro suggests it is not meant for treatment I think that it is a good baseline to start asking questions. From this book I'm getting a good understanding of what CBT is and what can be expected from it. I'm finding the triangle of thoughts-behaviors-feelings very interesting. The idea that we can and should treat in all of these areas seems so intuitive, yet is something that isn't widely done.I love the idea that CBT is a way to work through things. Its not just 'take a pill' and hope fore the best. It is a set of techniques that aim to manage the issue. The understanding I'm getting from this book is really opening up a new world of treatment in my mind. And I don't think it necessarily applies to only those with a specific disorder, I think anyone can benefit from this. The idea that this is not a traditional approach to wellness, but that it is researched and being written about by medical professionals is very interesting to me. I think that we need more study like this- more people open to different ideas. The examples given throughout not only make the ideas easy to understand but also made me think about my own behaviors and how my actions are linked together in ways I had not thought of before. It is written in such a way that it is very easy to understand. Many items are broken down step by step and listed out almost in a way that you could check-box items as you go. Its very informative without feeling like a lecture. The author has a nice conversation style that kept me engaged even if I went back and reread a section.I even enjoyed where it goes into actual practice for therapy use. I'm not a therapist or actively seeking one out, but I can see what the process would look like and I think that for someone needing this it would greatly help in making the process transparent and more welcoming. For a therapist I think this would be a great tool to use and share with patients.

So happy to have found this book!
This book is absolutely enlightening. My husband has anxiety and he sometimes have panic attacks and this book sheds some light on how I can help him and myself get through his panic attacks. CBT is what we need to be able to deal with his anxiety and overall, make our relationship stronger. I can't wait to share this to my husband, I'm sure he will be impressed!
