Works great, another great OREI product
This was purchased for my church. We use this to send video announcements to remote tvs in the lobby of the church. Easy to install and setup. If you are using self terminated LAN cables, they must be built correctly. These units use POE and a poorly terminated LAN cable will cause the remote unit not to work. No power connections are needed at the remote side. Our LAN runs are between 75โ and 100โ. Picture quality is very good. Make sure the transmitter unit has good ventilation. I had it in a rack on top of another unit and I think it was over heating. I moved the transmitter unit and that solved the problem of glitches on the TV. Would definitely recommend this product as a good HDMI extender. OREI makes a lot of good products and their instructional videos are great.

Good HDMI distribution solution.
Working great so far. Driving 3 flat screen monitors from a central security NVR. My longest CAT 6 cable pull was about 110 feet and the video quality is great. It is on 24/7 so I hope it holds up over the long hall and I will edit the review if I encounter any performance issues.

a great splitter-extender for the cost
Excellent unit for the price. My runs were all less than 60' each and I was forced to use Cat5e due to color of cable, and all worked very well.

Missing pieces, can't power with half a power adapter
Product is worthless worldwide with only this half of the wall power apapter. Update: returned for full refund the unit that shipped without half of the power adapter. It was an open box item. Shame on Amazon for not checking components. The new unit was a "newer" version, same distance but better resolution specs. It appears to work flawlessly for my needs, except one item. I have checked with tv's, computer monitors, from laptop, and Blu-ray sources. I have not checked the IR remote functions, but I don't need them. What I have found that does not work is using an HDMI to DVI adaptor cable out of the HDMI output on the transmitter unit. This adaptor cable works from the recievers to the same computer monitor I'm testing the output on. So close to a five star, but I bought this for the exact configuration I can only get to work 80% right.

Working with old regular cat5.
I'm using old regular cat5 not even cat5e. I'm using the cat5 to run the hdmi signal from my security camera NVR box to 3 TV's. Longest run is 50ft. No issues always works.

Very reliable and excellent 1080P HDMI Extension Over CAT6/7
The Orei 1x4 HDMI Extender Splitter is a great choice for distributing HDMI signals over long distances using CAT6/7 cables (up to 165 ft). It supports 1080P resolution with low latency, making it ideal for home entertainment, retail, and business setups. IR remote pass-through allows easy control of the source from any receiver. EDID management ensures compatibility with different displays, while the loop-out feature enables local monitoring. The plug-and-play design makes setup simple. Strong build quality prevents overheating and ensures durability. However, it lacks 4K support and requires high-quality cables for best performance. Despite this, it delivers reliable multi-display HDMI distribution with minimal signal loss. Rating: Highly recommended for 1080P setups!

High quality product
OREI 1x4 HDMI Extender Splitter Multiple Over Single Cable CAT6/7 1080P with IR Remote EDID Management Used this to mirror a hdmi source to a 2nd TV 25m away (3rd and 4th TV planned for the future). Note that this device is used to send ONE hdmi source to 4-5 TVs and does not switch between multiple hdmi sources. From the packaging to the feel and function, this extender set oozes quality with the amount of thought clearly put into providing you with everything you could possibly need, from rack mounting provisions to the ir receivers and transmitters that allow you to use your remote at the 2nd location. The hardest thing involving this unit is pulling the ethernet cables to where they need to go. How it works is pretty straightforward. 1. Connect the hdmi source to the 'hdmi in' port on the main unit. 2. Use cat 6 (or higher) ethernet cable to connect the main unit to the sub unit. 3. 'hdmi out' from the sub unit connects to your tv or amp. The main unit is powered via included AC adapter (100-240v to [email protected]) while the sub units are powered via PoE using the same cat 6+ cable that carries the video signal so it's very portable and there's that much less clutter with no need for additional power cables. If you want your hdmi source's remote control to work at the remote location(s), connect the ir receivers (4 provided) to the sub units and the single provided ir blaster (transmitter) to the main unit. The receiver picks up the ir signal from your remote and sends it to the ir transmitter via cat6 cable. I've positioned the blaster about 8cm from my stb and have no issues with the range of the rx at 5m. The EDID switches on the main unit can be used to set the video output resolution. I set mine to 1080p/2ch audio but the unit has seetings ranging from 720p@60Hz to 4K@30Hz. There are 3D options for 1080p. Audio options include 2ch, hd audio and dolby/dts 5.1. HDMI/HDCP compliance is v1.4. Something not clearly indicated in the manual is that you can use the 'hdmi loop out' connector on the main unit to connect directly to your primary tv via hdmi cable, assuming it's adjacent to the main unit. so theoretically that means this 4 ethernet port unit can actually supply video to up to 5 tvs (4 network + 1 hdmi loop out). The manual indicates that the max distance for each cat6 cable run is 40m for 4k@30Hz video and 70m for 1080p@60Hz. My run involved 25m of standard 24 awg cat6 cable and a couple cat6 keystone jacks and I had no issues indicating the need for cat6e or cat7 cables. But if I wanted the 4k I might go with fancy cat7 and shielded cat7 keystone jacks. To summarize I'm very pleased with this unit and all that remains to be seen is how long it will last.
