Outstanding and logical
I have recently set up my own consulting business which has required me to seek new clients in various ways. After years of coaching and managing a team of sales people, I have now encountered the challenges on the front line. Needless to say I spent 3-4 months struggling to get e-mails returned, voice mails returned, etc. I have purchased 11 new prospecting books in the past 7 months, and this one has been the best for me. After going through this book I followed the steps for building an agenda and preparing info for calls, e-mails, linked-in, etc. and voila...I have closed 4 new clients in the past 6 days. I feel much more confident in my approach, which has made a world of difference. Excellently written, great information.

A must read for sales and marketing professionals -- OUTSTANDING
Snap Selling stands out from the crowd of sales books and methodologies as the most sensible, and customer-focused, method for sales success. It should be mandatory reading for every sales and marketing professional and for all MBA programs. I'm shocked by how many salespeople and executives think the way to generate revenue is to blather on about their company, show a bunch of boring slides and pester their prospects with calls and emails that add no value and ramble on about all the features and benefits. The premise of Jill's book is that people are busy, and you'd better add value at every interaction if you want to be part of a selection process. For salespeople, this is a major departure on how they work. They can't cold call and fish around for pain -- they'll have to prepare and add value. For marketers, they'll have to understand buyer personas and produce crisp, value-added content that is not focused on the product. Do the work, and everyone wins.

This changed the way we work!
I am a sceptical person when I read books about selling. After reading SNAP Selling and reviewing the materials included with the book and on Jill's website, I revamped the way my organization works with leads, sales meetings and potential clients. The guidelines presented in the book are more than just re-packaged common sense- they are insights into the way people interact with vendors, potential vendors and exceptional people looking to differentiate themselves from the crowded marketplace.Using the principles outlined in the book, we were able to formulate a value proposition that immediately gained traction with leads. We were able to introduce ourselves professionally and we are in the process of shortening the time between lead acquisition and sale.Jill writes well- and the book is engaging to read. It is not loaded with superlatives, rather with examples from real life. The information is presented concisely and logically. Reading the book is worthwhile- but implementing its content is truly compelling.

A good addition to your selling toolkit
I'm new into sales and started learning the traditional sales training. I found those skills to be valuable, but the information in this book is both relevant and timely. The framework is well thought out and challenges the teachings of the traditional selling training, which is what I like most about this book. The topic and appendix on Web 2.0 tools is very good.Just a few things that I did not like for instance, the examples were not always very clear or aligned to the context, and I think a few topics could have been dealt with better. On the whole, I would recommend this book as a valuable addition to your current sales training.Just one note on the Kindle edition. This being my first Kindle book, it took some getting used to. Note that the index is not linked so it is basicaly worthless. Some of the formatting is off, but still readable.

A True Masterpiece
The late English novelist John Braine, author of such great works as Room at the Top and The Crying Game, once said, "All masterpieces are best sellers, but not all best sellers are masterpieces." SNAP Selling is a best seller which truly deserves to be called a masterpiece. Why? Because it provides a dynamic paradigm shift to how salespeople should work their craft. A paradigm shift so compelling it's comparable to the airlines switching over from propeller to jet aircraft. There are a ton of sales books out there (if you're like me, you've read most of them)--they're ubiquitous as cookbooks; but this one, if you're willing to pay close attention, will teach you how to deal with your "Busy Frazzled Customers" of big business in a way none of the others come close to. When you adopt the principles of SNAP Selling, you're going to become a professional in a way you never imagined possible. Your selling approach is going to turn 180° to the north. Doors are going to open for you which up to now have always been shut tight. Your colleagues are going to look at you in awe, ask, "Gee, what happened to Joe? What's changed all of a sudden? How's he doing it? What's his secret?"Whomever coined the phrase "Knowledge is Power" knew what he/she was talking about. SNAP Selling will give you powerful knowledge. Enjoy, absorb, and most importantly, learn from Jill Konrath's magnificent gift to all of us in the selling profession. You'll probably wind up sending her a thank-you letter.

Common sense but not common practice
Much of what Jill Konrath explains in this book is now common practice in high end professional sales. However it was not so until she and came up with this approach and brought a combination of common sense and a methodical approach to what remains, too often, poor, old-school interruption marketing and selling.

Brilliant
Totally different audience to the businesses I am aiming at but gives great insight and the techniques work across the board, you just have to re-think the wording to fit with your target clients. Lots of food for thought and we are instigating some of her suggestions in our business with positive results. I recommend this book highly if you want to improve your selling skills and/or selling processes within your business
