The American Tradition in Literature, 12th Edition

I didn't have many options when purchasing this book for my university studies and I needed one quickly. This was one of the only ones I could find. The pages where heavily marked up with pencil, pen, and highlighters. So many colors of highlighters! Also, the pen markings were intrusive to the reading. The pages were severely folded at one corner and with great patience, I was able to manipulate the pages to a more respectable fold. Lol. The literature itself is wonderful! I love the passages and story lines! There are sections in the book called "Cross Currents" that I enjoyed reading. Each story usually has a bit of knowledge and biography about the author, so it's fun to learn how the authors lived or viewed life before reading their stories. If you love literature, you will enjoy this 2,310 page brick!

Received this book for a class I was taking. The book was in good condition and was exactly what I needed. It was rental and very easy to return.

The shipping for this item was fast. However when I purchase or rent a textbook I expect all of the previous owner's materials to be removed from the book. I thought the books were supposed to go through a rigorous check due to the fact they were used. This book came loaded with folded up Art syllabus, index cards, and index tabs through out the pages. Based on the price I paid for this book I really would have expected someone to flip through the pages to remove the junk. The outside of the book was fairly decent and that is the reason why I gave it three stars. This volume is a lot better than the previous volumes. It has interesting stories and the material is actually written to the point where you can actually understand and apply the content within your Literature assignments. My only complaint would be the materials left inside, It could have been someone's personal information that a complete stranger had access to .

This was considerably cheaper than other options. Returning was so simple. Wish this was around the first time I was in college- saves a ton! The book is very well “loved” but I don’t see why that would matter to anyone who wants to rent anyways.

Content is good but print and paper quality is very low. It is so cheaply made that you must put in a protective case/envelope or it will not make it through the semester.

This book is everything it promises to be, and as a bonus mine came with a pretty good CD that includes a variety of helpful visuals and some stimulating questions and extras. But...it is a paperback that rolls in at around $100+, so I wouldn't be shopping for it unless I needed it for a class. It must weigh in at around five pounds.

i forgot to write this sooner but these pictures are from the day i received it. other than the fact that the side of the pages were coiled up.. the book is perfect & the quality is good. i would recommend this company.

Daughter is taking an online class this summer. The book arrived dog eared and marks inside. It is fine, but wanted to document for when I return.
