These are some of the first Hindu chants I learned after I converted to Hinduism in 1997. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2001* Ravi Shankar is perhaps the best known artist from the East in the West,and there are reasons far beyond his association with George Harrison{though that contributed hugely to his commercial ability} Yehudi Menuihin recorded with him early, and saw his genius. The concert for the bangladesh propelled him into the forefront, and he has continued to surprise with his explorations. this recording is a flat out masterpiece. Drawn from Vedic texts and the Upanishads, these are prayers of hope, fulfillment, longing and pure bliss. The opening, the intoning of the sacred sylable OM is awesome, and there is simply not a weak cut on this recording.
