One Great Wood Stain
I have used Watco stains since about 1963. They go on smoothly and give a great stain. It is hard to screw using this product. They are dry in a couple of hours, ready for one to apply a lacquer finish.

I love this for our oak doors
We used this to stain our interior red oak doors. I sampled other stains, but when I tried this I immediately fell in love. It is beautiful, and is almost trivially easy to apply evenly. I didn't need any fancy tools - a cloth or sponge works well. I used both the medium and dark walnut for different needs - neither looks like walnut given the oak wood, of course. The dark has more brown in the result, while the medium pretty much looks like a red oak door.

Walnuttiest
Yeah, gottta stain, get the Watco. Pro painters I know use this and thus it's good enough for me. My only issue was with the wood not the stain. Watco has many different colors and there are so many ways to apply. One coat two coat, sand it, lacquer over it, what's your fancy. Not sure they have samples at local stores, but find your color before you commit to a full can.

Really nice product to use on wood projects I've wood burned on.
Danish oil was recommended in books on pyrography I've read. I agree with the authors in that danish oil is a really nice way to treat or cover a project with when you're done. It makes the project feel done and not just completely raw wood looking. This natural color adds just a hint of color to the project without detracting from the wood burned area at all.

Always happy to use this product.
Watco (Rustoleum product) is great. Use it to color any wood without much, if any, blotch. Wait 3 days for it to dry, top coat with Dewaxed Shellac Seal Coat, then put any clear finish you like -- to add protection. Usually use a Waterborne product because the Watco's and Dewaxed Shellac add such a deep rich color. Great product, if you can afford to take the time and let it DRY 3+ days.
