"Stand"ing Ovation
I apologize for the pun above, but I couldn't help it, the stand is worthy of praise. :o) I bought this for $4.99 off Amazon.com, and boy was it worth it!The stand is very sturdy and has very soft cushions on the top and bottom supports. There is even a rubber clamp that you can put on to prevent accidental knock-overs. Even at $12.00 I believe it is still worth it. Great stand from a great company.

Guitar holder
Made crappies. Gave as gift and didn't last a month for a 17-year-old. Very disappointing!

If you care about your guitar don't buy this flimsy piece of crap
I purchased this stand to hold a new guitar I purchased. Put it together and wasn't too impressed when assembling. At the time, I was worried about the lower portion that holds the base of the guitar. It moves and rotates, it's weird, but it did the job. I kept it in the same place for like 6 months used the guitar and put it back each time. Today, I was cleaning up the carpet and had to move the stand and guitar. I held them both firmly and moved them with care. I didn't even go 6 feet across my room and the section that holds the neck of the guitar breaks. I come to see that it's just a small sheet of metal welded together. Luckily, I caught my guitar before it hit the ground. I'm just shocked because I never noticed it, but what a s***** job of welding. I'm no pro or an amateur or even a beginner welder and I can tell you its a s***** welding job. I've been a member of Amazon for a long time, I pretty much buy everything off here and this is the only review I've ever written. Because this s***** product will mess up your guitar. Mine only cost about $200, but I love it. Imagine putting a Les Paul on this piece of crap. THINK ABOUT YOUR GUITAR and buy a different stand.

Warning: Buy the On Stage Stands version instead of this inferior product
This is cheap junk versus the seemingly identical product from a different manufacturer, On Stage Stands (which is the one you should buy). This Musician's Gear knockoff of the On Stage Stands product has an inferior design with poor fit-and-finish. Worse yet, the geometry of the adjustable neck is off so that the back of my dreadnought acoustic guitar's body touches the unpadded neck of the stand before the guitar's neck makes contact with the padded upper support (no matter how I adjust the stand's neck height).Unlike the superior On Stage Stands version, the foam padding on the Musician's Gear stand stinks like foul chemicals (not surprising since there's a prominent warning tag attached that says the foam might deteriorate the finish of any instrument having a nitrocellulous lacquer finish). My dreadnought guitar and (with height adjusted) my tenor ukulele both fit the On Stage Stands stand but neither fits this one. The foam coverings on the OSS version are neatly and precisely attached, and the circular ends of the rubber stretch "lock" (on the upper support) snap neatly into their own recessed channels, which this Musician's Gear version lacks (so the rubber lock just slides clumsily over the foam).I'll be looking for inexpensive return freight so I can get a credit from the vendor, rather than just throwing this purchase into the trash. To the vendor's credit, the agent I obtained my return-authorization # from was willing to give me a price match+$1 discount on an On Stage Stands replacement, though I decided to buy instead from Sweetwater dot com, where I bought my first OSS item.UPDATE: The return policy of the vendor (different now on Amazon vs. mine) allows it to deduct the value of my initially free shipping from the credit it would issue; therefore, my $10 purchase price apparently would be reduced by $4.95 (vendor's standard 3-5-day shipping) PLUS my cost for return freight, which I assume would be at least $5. Ergo, I'm better off throwing this crappy item in the trash rather than returning it so the vendor could resell it to another sucker. Lesson learned. Caveat emptor!!!FURTHER UPDATE: I emailed a copy of my Amazon review to the vendor's front office, along with a further expression of displeasure, and they responded by apologizing and issuing a full refund (confirmed by Amazon) without requiring I return the product. I recommend all consumers speak up when they've been screwed over; the better vendors will make amends.

Could damage your Guitar
I must have got some other product or they have changed their design because how someone could say this is a good product is beyond me. It does go together easily but it leans backwards. I bought mine to set my guitar or bass near me so I would have easy access to play when I had time. This thing leans back so far that it would be putting pressure on the neck. I wouldn't trust it past an hour or two. Anyone who is storing their guitar on one is going to end up with neck issues in short time. I figured I would use it for times when I was out of the house but when I put my bass on it the center of gravity was so high that a slight bump would knock it over. I would never use it on a stage or anywhere people are moving around it. I tried it with my other instruments and the only thing it could support was a sad small banjo. Run away from this product if you have any instrument that you love and want to keep.
