Jesus: A Gospel Paperback – Illustrated, January 9, 2013

I was disappointed as I thought I had ordered the hard cover copy of this book!

I haven't actually read this book yet. I am Director of Faith Formation at a Catholic Church and have a group that gathers for an hour and a half once a week. We are purchasing this book for our next study. We have had great experiences in the past with Henri Nouwen's books. This particular book Jesus, A Gospel by Henri Nouwen has been recommended to me by a popular, well known priest in Central NY.

Love these reflections- This is a book you can pick up and put down and read over and over your favorite sections for years.

I bought this as a book for our Book Club and was struck with wonder at the description of how jesus taught and walked the talk. His teachings and examples are clear and following his Way brings joy and peace. It is, as He is, incredible.

You will understand Jesus more because you will feel him near you and not talking in parables, or as a bible thumping person, but you feel him as a friend. I am in a home group, and we are using this book for our study.

It was a refreshing book with memorable quotes or observations on every page.

This is the best book that i have ever read on our Lord Jesus and his life. It is easy to read and yet profound. I highly recommend it.

I bought this book because I love all of Henri Nouwen's writings.He writes gently and from a heart in love with Jesus and his fellow man.In this book he takes passages from the Gospel and brings fresh light and understanding to the works and sayings of his Saviour.I thoroughly recommend to those who want to discover what lies at the heart of the Gospel message.

Disappointed drafted out of notes written by Nouwen it was not the artist whom compiled his own work but others who took pieces he placed to one side.Therefore very much box standard gospel interpretations.

Henri Nouwen an author you can rely on. Always interesting, enlightening easy to understand.

Again an excellent spiritual book of Henri Nouwen and very uplifting I would recommend as it is a book that is very helpful for spiritual reading.

An outstanding compilation of Nouwen's writings on the Gospels, much more than a commentary, great spiritual depth and invaluable insights into our human condition and the divine love of God.
