Hyper Pet Real Skinz Opossum Plush Dog Toy

Its weird to me to write a review fo a dog toy.. but I just HAD to for this one!We adopted a rescue 2.5yr old german shepherd this past Christmas. In preparing for her arrival, I bought this toy off Amazon because it looked so ridiculously cute. Once I got it, realized the head was a big squeaky toy and it had a "sock" floppy body with rubber tail. I was very, very dubious about how long this toy would last under the play teeth of a 60lb dog!Here we are four months later, and Banshee (our dog) is still playing with it! Its invariably her favorite toy still (outlasting the silly roasted squeak chicken, the Kong toy, and a dozen other toys..) and its the one she plays with the most. It tickles the dog's prey drive, and this thing looks like a squeaking rat while she thrashes it. She tosses it, bites, chews, and whimpers at it. Its so cute (though we fully aware its satisfying her prey drive!)Sometimes she "throws' it over the upstairs bannister, it plops on our livingroom floor. Dog comes bolting downstairs, grabs her possum, and brings it back upstairs. Repeat..and repeat.. until she gets tired!This toy is built.. WELL. I'm impressed with how much Banshee plays with it how well its lasted. Its about the size of a large rat and .. well.. fortunately or unfortunately depending on your perspective... looks realistically like a large rat! We love this toy! When..if.. Banshee thrashes it, we'll definitely be getting another!

I was looking for a new toy for our family's miniature schnauzer. Mini schnauzers have a strong prey drive so we tested out loads of toys that resembled small prey and this particular toy is one of her favorites. She's able to easily hold the toy in her mouth b/c of its flat body. I think she even likes the super loud squeak it makes. And despite the fact that she shakes it to death while also hitting herself in the face with the floppy body, she won't stop! I like that the tail is easy to grab and pretty secure for pulling and tug play. It has held my 12lb schnauzer off the ground a few times when I've tried to get her to let go! I am lucky she doesn't chew this toy but we also give her an antler or chew stick that she likes as well.I get that with an aggressive chewer and/or a larger dog, this toy may not hold up very long; even with my mini schnauzer, it probably held up 3-4 months max? The tail was the first to come off...then she pulled out the squeaker before we finally threw it away. But given how much it's loved and enjoyed, we ordered another. Literally my dog's favorite toy. I have a Vizsla and she loves this hideous thing like nothing else. I try to always have a back up in case something happens to the one she currently has. It has an annoying squeaker that I usually stab (puncture) once it gets on my nerves too much. My dog doesn't tear up toys intentionally so with normal play and fetch, I'd say this thing holds up well. One usually lasts a year.We have one that has no head and no tail - just the carcass and my dog still loves it 🤣

This is the best dog toy for my old girl with anxiety. She takes her little “manny man” everywhere she goes (out to go potty, to the vet, sleeps with it and anywhere we take her). She carries it around like it is one of her puppies. I order 3 at a time just in case she loses one which she usually forgets it outside and then panic sets in. The head squeaks which is a soft rubber, the rubber feet and tail make this opossum realistic. This has been a true lifesaver for us. We have been ordering these little guys since we rescued her 7 and a half years ago. She is now 11. I would not know what to do without it!

No one gave my 12 pound mini-schnauzer the memo that she isn't a hunting dog. This opossum toy is her absolute favorite toy she has ever received. We've actually bought it twice now. She managed to rip a hole in the head of her first one, so we had to decapitate the poor thing. After a long while, she also took off the tail. Even as just a sad, ugly core of an opossum, my dog still loved it. We bought her a new one for her birthday, and it has held up better.Pros: goes pretty far when playing catch, adored, durable coreCons: Ugly as heck, obnoxious dual squeakers, not the most durableEven with the downsides, I'm sure I will buy another one because the fur baby rules the roost.

I don't buy stuffies for my dogs because they are indestructible. I buy them for the joy they bring my dogs destroying them and the fun I have watching them tote the unstuffed carcasses around. This one is my faves. Its face is funny, its fur is pretty lifelike, and the squeak is unique.

I purchased this for our 11-month-old Golden Retriever. Based on the 4.4 rating, the "Amazon's Choice" designation, and the fact that it's Hyper Pet brand, I had high hopes for it. However, it arrived badly damaged (it looked like another dog had already ripped it open and started pulling the stuffing out). In addition, even had it arrived intact, our dog would have destroyed it in less than a day. The fabric and stitching on it is very thin and flimsy. Don't even think about getting this unless your dog is very small and docile.

dog likes it and uses it all the time. loves to play tug of war and it has been very durable.
