Far & Away --- THE best daily devotional I've ever read. My wife and I LOVE Spurgeon's Morning & Evening. So much so, this small collegiate version by Christian Heritage, we buy in bulk to give as gifts to HS Seniors on their graduation every year. You will gain so much insight into God's Word. It's truth transcends --- I'm sure when Spurgeon published this book back in 1866, he had no idea the impact it would make around the world. Here we are in 2015 the points Spurgeon was making back is the 1800's are still so very relevant today! You need to buy this book and read it every day for a year and let God's Word fill you. You won't regret it.

For the price and being a paperback, I didn't figure it would be so large. It's not a deal breaker as the Spurgeon content is fabulous, just check the dimensions before you purchase if you didn't want nearly a coffee table-sized book.

The media could not be loaded.  Couldn’t find any other accurate and up to date reviews of the hardback copy so here you go! It came in great condition, feels sturdy and is a thick, hefty book! There is NO ribbon bookmark just so you know. The format is laid out beautifully and in perfect order and consistency all throughout. The font is your standard size font, not too small in my opinion. The pages are good quality, not thin and flimsy at all. I pray that all who purchase this book (and any other Spurgeon book) will be immensely blessed by its contents. May God Almighty bless you all

I got a soft copy of this book included in a bible soft program......It's a great devotional. Charles Surgeon takes a theme verse from the Scriptures and applies it in a way that is relevant to the reader. When I saw a hard copy in a half off bookstore I bought two copies so I could enjoy it on the go. I kept one and gave the other as a gift. For nearly a year and a half I carried that book to and from work.... It was beginning to show wear. So when I got my Kindle naturally I got the Kindle edition. All I can say is: "Wow!" The Kindle edition has taken me to a whole new level of enjoyment..... I can highlight, add margin notes and really make it my own. I definitely recommend this devotional for anyone who enjoys moments of refreshing in the morning, evening and throughout the day.

If you are looking for an intelligent daily devotional, but have little time to spend, this is an excellent choice. Spurgeon writes with great inspiration that is truly from the inspiration of the Word of God. He seems to hit on current daily events that relate to us in our modern times just as well as they did in the late 1800's. It is designed to read a morning start to your day with the Lord and then again in the evening to close your day with the Lord. I like this book so much I am on my fourth copy because I keep giving it away so others can enjoy it. Needless to say I highly recommend it.

I love the scripture but the printing is so small that even with my glasses I can’t hardly read it. 😥

This work is broken it to two parts, the author's reflection on scriptural text to be read in the morning, and a reflection on another verse for the evening. The morning and evening reflections are vivid, powerful, and inspiring. The masterful old English prose flows well; the snippets of scripture insightfully expounded upon. The bits of scripture addressed are small, perhaps a single verse or two, and yet are weighty enough to linger in your mind throughout the day. I had never really adhered to a daily devotional type of Bible study until I found this work. Now I am committed to completing both portions by the end of the day. Definitely worth the time and will make your day much richer.Now, with regard to the kindle formatting, I had but one issue. That is that the TOC does not link to individual months, but only to the individual (AM/PM) readings within the months. So, let's say you want to jump to a November reading, you'd have to page through all the linked readings of prior months before you could get to the one desired. I have seen another kindle version that links the months, and then also links the individual readings for every month as well. Had I not purchased this version first, I would have bought that one instead. It is not a big enough issue for me to return this version, but I thought I would give a warning to those would be buyers. In either case, this work is well worth the money.

This devotional has been part of my daily reading for the last 11 years, and although other ones have come and gone, this one will stay with me for 2022.

Recomendo sem reservas. Ensino bíblico, verdadeiro, claro, que glorifica a Deus. A cada dia surpreende com entendimento espiritual novo em textos que já lêramos muitas vezes sem o perceber.

More insightful than many devotionals... as you might expect from Spurgeon. I bought a second one as a gift, as I was so impressed. Made to a high standard with beautiful cover, thin pages and ribbon page marker. Morning and evening devotionals that really get you thinking.
