No I would buy the actual fabric glue. This glue is to soft to hold fabrics and it would proudly wash right off if the fabric got wet.

Will this glue work on leather?

I think it will. I purchased this at the Dollar Tree in Canada and used it on Birkenstock sandals and also a horse saddle pad. I love this glue! I will keep it handy for a variety of uses now that I’ve tried it! It is goopier than crazy glue and has more substance. It takes a while to dry, but dries clear. I was able to build up the back of the Birkenstocks (cork) by letting one layer dry and then adding another.

will this work as a adhesive for gold leaf application?

Yes, this PVA type of glue, such as Original Tacky Glue or Quick Dry Tacky Glue will provide a uniform application of glue that will result in a smooth gold leaf surface.

Can a stiff pvc tacky glued item be removed after tacky gluing??

I would suspect yes, because I have had pads I glued to the bottom of chairs come off after 10 years. If I were to try to do it, I would use a metal scraper to attempt to get under the item, that is assuming the item is reasonably flat.
