Wanting to teach your child the absolute basics ? This is the book, very good!

This is a little above my 9 year old but has some good exercises. I think it should indicate the level not just "for kids". Also it sort of jumps around with the activities, It would be easier to use if it was arranged to concentrate of one facet at a time before moving to a different topic. Sort of seesaws. All in all a good math tool and I'm glad to have it even though it takes a little more work on my part to plan the lessons.

This book shows how to transfer quantities in metric to ounces and pounds. Since many recipes are written in one system, but you want to make them in another, this book will show you how to 'translate' the quantities. The method can be used in other areas like land measurement and currency conversions. The friendly tone of the text make these calculations seem easy, rather than daunting.

Wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I also judge a book by its cover (and pages) not very enticing for young kids.

I am so excited to use this book with my son. I home school my children and this book presents math topics such as measurements, radius, division, fractions and many others in a practical way. Children see math used in everyday life, in the kitchen! It isn't the only method we will use to teach these topics, but it certainly will add to the enjoyment of learning them!

This is a great book if you are teaching your child to cook. Most of the math is in measuring or doubling recipes and other useful things like that. Simple easy recipes.

Bought this for our eight year old granddaughter to help with her math skills. She is also learning how to cook and help her mother in the kitchen. This is a plus for young girls - and of course, boys to excel in both areas.

Haven't done any yet, but going through book everything looks simple, fun and educational. Can't wait to start this fall
