For less than $20, I'd probably buy it again.
I purchased this waffle maker to use for a mother's day breakfast this month, and so far it's been good. It does the job and depending on the recipe you use, it could take as little as 2-3 minutes per batch of the 4 waffles. The waffle are nice and fluffy, but not super thick; they are about an inch thick which is perfect for me. I haven't had a problem with them sticking, since the waffle maker does have a nonstick coating. Although it all sounds great, there are more irons of the same price that do a better job. The main problem that does not bother me a whole lot, but can definitely be a deal breaker is that I've noticed that the iron does not cook all the waffles evenly. The waffles are not golden brown all the way simultaneously π. Like I said, it may bother some and not so much for others. When I purchased it, the waffle maker was less than $20 and was well worth the price (I sort of bought it just for that reason lol). I've noticed that the price has definitely been fluctuating, so I'm not so sure that it's worth it. You be the judge (:

So far works fine.
I purchased this on my brother's advise, rather than other reviews, because he owns one too. I figured for the price, it would be worth the risk. So far, it works fine. I haven't had any sticking issues or flaking off of coating yet. I was sure to season the iron properly with crisco before I used it, so maybe this helps. The only trick I use when cooking is I pour the batter into the top half of the iron, close it and wait about 5 seconds, and then flip the machine over the correct way for the rest of the cooking time of about 3 mins. The waffles always come out great. Without flipping, they dont seem to rise that much but it could be the batter I used. I also use more batter than the recipe calls for. I pour enough to just cover the whole cooking area before I close it. There are 5 in our family and this iron is a good size. It cooks 4 waffles in about 3 mins. I also like the way it stores up on end for more counter space. So if you don't mind flipping the machine over when cooking, I think it works great!

Waffles are great but baker has deficiencies.
Pros: Waffle maker makes excellent waffles.Cons: No on/off switch. Green light does not go on when baker is ready.Griddles are not removable for cleaning. Wiping griddles does not get griddles clean. Need to be able to remove them for washing and also for washing areas around griddles. Having an on off switch would greatly improve this product' The green ready light should also be more visible and red light should go out when baker is ready/Tried two other brands but was disappointed that the waffles were not cooked crisp and brown. One brand had removable griddles which was great but unfortunately the waffles were pale and soggy.

Do Not Buy -- It is Dangerous
Do Not Buy this Waffle Maker. It is dangerous. We have had ours for about 9 months. Most of the time it just sat on a shelf in our kitchen. About once every other week or so, my wife and I would have waffles for brunch on Sunday. A month ago, the rear support to the device started breaking. The waffle maker has three supports (feet). The two in front are post style supports, while there is one large rear support that also has the power cord coming out of it. Well the rear support destructed on its own, while just sitting on the shelf (no dropping or physical trauma to the unit). Now we have a waffle maker that is about 1/4 inch shorter in the rear than it should be and is a point support rather than a support that covers most of the rear of the device. This means that batter runs out the back and it wobbles and tilts when you open it. If you have children it could easily harm one if they try to use it. It is made in China by people who are being exploited and don't really care about quality control. Do yourself a favor --- DO NOT BUY THIS. Toastmaster used to be one of the best brands, but I guess that's no longer true.

Reliable, Easy to Use, Lovely Design
I first encountered this waffle maker when I was in boarding school, where it was used almost every weekend for hours by dozens of people; that experience impressed me so much that when I decided to buy my own, I got the same model. It's not nearly as heavy or satisfyingly dense as the waffle maker I used as a child, but it does the job well. I don't pay any attention to the indicator lights, so I have no idea if they are accurate (go by the steam, like a pro!) but everything else about this waffle maker has been great; they don't stick, burn, or come out rubbery.I use golden malted waffle flour, if that's relevant, but I've made waffle batter from scratch before that that works great too, just not quite the same crispy texture, although that's probably my lack of skill in the kitchen showing...

Poor design having to do with the light indicators
The cord is kind of short, so you have to place it very close to an outlet. But the biggest problem is that the lights don't tell you when the waffles are ready! The last waffle maker we had had a light that went on when the iron was preheated, then when you put the batter in, the light went off and went back on when the waffles were done. This has a preheat light but then no indication of doneness, so you have to keep opening the iron to check.

Broken latch Movable (Clamp)
There is a latch on the handle which holds the two halves of waffle maker together while baking or storage. The latch is very fragile. The latch on my unit broke the second time I used it. One plastic arm used to hold the latch in placesevered. The waffle maker is usable but not as designed since batter does not spread. Overall appearance is vey poor.

I love waffles!
When I moved out of my parent's home 40 yrs ago, I took my clothes and the waffle iron. Needless to say, at my house we really use our waffle iron a bunch. I like the Toastmaster design and operation, so when my old one wore out, I shopped on Amazon for a replacement. When I bought this model I didn't realize it was not only bigger but also was a "Belgium" waffle maker. Belgium waffles are thicker, but that's okay as they taste like regular waffles to me. This waffle iron cooks fast and gets them crispy....yumm. It also makes great grilled cheese sandwiches. I don't think you can go wrong with this Toastmaster Waffle Iron.

Excellent appliance!
I purchased the Waffle Maker for my daughter as an Anniversary gift. I had been given the same brand of waffle maker as a X-mas gift from my son and daughter-in-law 5 years ago. It is an easy appliance to use and the waffles turn out perfect!
