Amazing sounding drum for a fraction the cost
Instructions were easy to follow and the build took almost no time at all. The drum itself sounds amazing and just as good as my other schlagwerk drums. Kit came with extra tube of glue and if you got wood projects that stuff is amazing!

Do it
Got this for my gf for her birthday for us to build together! Very good video tutorial and straightforward instructions. It looks very nice (especially if you stain it)

Brilliant Love It
Bought the CBA2 kit (the 2 snare version) and I LOVE IT. When putting it together following the instructions certain bits seemed a bit too big but I soon realised that when sanded down it left a really nice looking joints. All parts are included (even the sandpaper and glue) the glue sets very quickly though so don't hang around. I used an electric mouse type sander to finish it all off and it looks great having sealed it with furniture oil. It has a nice sound to it both solo and mic'd up. There is also an online video on how to build it which is worth watching before you have a go. By the way I failed GCSE Woodwork so its not difficult to build. LOL.

A bonding experience!
Bought as a Christmas present for my partner, who was delighted but thought it best not to build the cajon unassisted. We went at it carefully, with help from the official YouTube video, as well as the included instructions. The edges of the long panels have interlocking slots, which is a great help in construction, and probably adds structural strength too. It’s best to do a dummy run at each stage, before spreading the glue. Unlike standard PVA, this stuff goes off pretty fast, meaning you can build your instrument in an evening. Just don’t hang about. But take care to get the panels aligned properly and at right-angles. The cardboard jig supplied is a help, but I was glad we also had a carpenter’s try square in the shed, for added confidence.A bit of sanding, a few coats of Danish oil later, and my partner is well happy. Has even gigged with it! There is a nice variety of tones, and the fixed snares can be emphasised or not, depending on where you tap.

DIY Cajon
Cheaper alternative to ready made.Nice sound from bass, to snare sounds. Having two snare springs a bonus.I added extra screws to make it more stable to sit on.Bought a Heck Stick secondhand to expand the sound possibilities.

Value for the price
Snare could be a bit more prominent but willing to accept that may be my fault during assembly. Could do with more wood glue but managed to get it together and adding the sandpaper for finishing was a nice touch.
